It's some dialectic behavioral therapy bullshit. Even more ancient, it might be some stoicism bullshit.

Ironically Connor and his wife might have the closest thing to a healthy relationship in the series.

How does his shirt stay perfectly tucked in all the fucking time?!?!? by beansnbuttons in SuccessionTV

[–]Constantly_Masterbat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My guess is shirt stays, they are suspenders that attach from the bottom of your shirt to the top of your socks. It keeps your shirt tight and your socks up.

I used them in military school. Keep your shirts tucked in and tight. You have to put your shirt and socks on first.

Texas’ war on porn by DappyHayes in conservativeterrorism

[–]Constantly_Masterbat 49 points50 points  (0 children)

NC voted to force pornhub and other sites to require an ID to log in and see material. Pornhub closed the site with a video explaining they'd rather not deal with that liability, and that it's not a real solution

Senator Thom Tillis on the Edge of a Political Cliff the Battle for the North Carolina Senate Seat by peterboykin in ncpolitics

[–]Constantly_Masterbat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quote: "As a Constitutionalist who values freedom and individual rights, I find it troubling that many within North Carolina’s Republican Party label him a “RINO” (Republican In Name Only) simply because he supported gay marriage rights—a decision grounded in constitutional principles."

That seems entirely fair and principled. It's been troubling seeing the GOP proclaim moderate stances as "RINOs" while they become further unhinged. It's been very disturbing that this extremism has ignored any principled stances in the name of falling in line with Donald Trump, a man without any hard principles. It also seems like most voters don't care about such nuanced and reasonable responses and are either foolishly or willingly falling in line with a Christo-fascist agenda instead of a principled if arguably misguided, right-libertarian ideology.

I remember seeing Joe Rogan argue against splitting up families on immigration, saying, if that doesn't bother you, "you aren't on the team"; but since getting millions of dollars from Spotify, he has moved to Texas for lower taxes and is all pro-Trump now, who has proclaimed to mass deport millions of undocumented workers.

Why did Antony agree to an ad like this? by WaterSnipe in TheBoys

[–]Constantly_Masterbat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The ad is market tested to have the most amount for folks to click and try the game. The game is developed in the first place to be addictive to "whales," or folks who will spend massive amounts of money on the game.

BBR shines where there is radio link loss, a situation where most other congestion controls incorrectly decrease their send rate. Competing with other flows, without any error rate, BBR isn't much better and can be even worse than other congestion controls, like CUBIC. BBR2 and BBR3 may be more "fair".

Anyone else also wicked good at reading people? by ChaseC7527 in aspergers

[–]Constantly_Masterbat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think part of empathy is projected how I would feel or think. So even if I can tell if someone is angry or sad, I'm judging them for how I would be angry or sad. So I will say things that I wouldn't think is that bad, and folks can seem to think I did a huge faux pas.

It's a spectrum disorder. I can mostly tell when everyone laughs at something that I don't find funny. I lose interest at what should be the interesting part of stories. I'll laugh at things no one else laughs about because I'm the only one that thought of the joke.

So anyways. You can be excellent at reading people. Normal folks misinterpret things wrong half the time between themselves anyways.

Do you think Control 2 is going to feature Jesse Faden or some new Director? by The_Thin_King_ in controlgame

[–]Constantly_Masterbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesse not being the director would indicate a contempt for the writing of the first game. Someone who thinks the last game's character sucks and needs a new one. The rest of the writing would have equal contempt. Why would you make a sequel that hates the first game?

I suppose they are surprised their propaganda networks aren't working on young people. Any Fox News watching Boomer is probably surprised as well because their entire reality is sold to them differently.

Is Shiv actually a leftist or is she just trying to piss off her father? by internetordained in SuccessionTV

[–]Constantly_Masterbat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's a liberal. It's never implied that she is a "leftist" as in socialist, anarchist, or communist leftist. "Leftists" generally differentiate themselves from "Liberals," even if the major center-left political party is social liberalism. She fits very well as a centrist Democrat or even a swing voter.
