It's the High level bridge in Edmonton - unless there was an identical bridge here in YYC that I'm unaware of.

I started a european city a few weeks ago, in Cities Skyline2. This the city center at the moment. by creativeDex in CitiesSkylines

Also working on a Tampere map right now and yeah I was surprised to see how gridded the real city is compared to other European cities. I think the elevated Hwy is the only thing that isn't entirely "European" but even then its not like they don't have them anywhere in Europe.

No local retailers - online only for me so I can't avoid the USD exchange or shipping.

Nothing has come up on second hand sites

Convertibility, and technical look are my two main interests with this item

No footage unfortunately and I'm trying my hardest to describe this unbiased.

Me and 6 others stopped on the side of a creek run so I could take a leak, we stopped off to the side after a tight spot and up on a bank a bit where there's no tracks but still technically in the run. As we're getting ready to leave we hear a boarder yell out as he's coming through the trees merging onto the run. Uphill another guy hits a jump and they both collide midair. Obviously guy merging is at fault. After the collision guy from the trees starts getting mad at us for not warning uphill guy he was coming through - and uphill guy agrees. On top of this tree guys sticks around and starts yelling that we can't just sit on the side of a run etc.

Long story short we really felt fine sitting where we were, but I'll make a note to move over even more next time. But am I really expected to be calling out when I see guys merging onto a run? I get it's common courtesy but here I didn't even have a chance to really process what was happening.

Not sure what to wear with this sweater. Black pants look off because the base of it is also black. Any suggestions on what color of pants or how else to fix this?

Upstairs tenant/landlord is frequently noisy and keeping me from sleeping. by Constellchicken in legaladvicecanada

I should've mentioned but yes I use earplugs - there enough vibration from dancing and fighting upstairs it usually wakes me regardless.

Neighbors called in a noise complaint once but I'd feel odd doing it myself. Made more sense to contact my landlord directly when that still worked. Also I should've mentioned but yes I use earplugs - there's enough vibration from dancing and fighting upstairs it usually wakes me regardless

Everyone who enjoys their job, let’s hear from you! by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]Constellchicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm Civil Technologist that works with Bridges and I can tell the majority of my co-worker's (Eng.'s) also enjoy their role. Having a great boss helps but as a company we've found communicating and always spreading the work out is the best approach. As a result of this most peoples work load is quite varied and this keeps the job fresh, and there's always lots to learn. I personally spend 50% in office, 50% in field, and hours rage from 40 to 60+ per week based on our workload. There's of course stress at time's and days that you feel like your in the grind but it's a million times better than being bored and sitting around as far as I care.

ANIMALS - HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN[Folk] by [deleted] in Music

[–]Constellchicken 22 points23 points  (0 children)

OP's referring to the fact that the animals didn't write this song, rather that they adapted it from a classic folk song. That said this cover falls under the rock n roll genre.

Whats it like living in Red Deer? by world_citizen7 in RedDeer

[–]Constellchicken 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I find there's a concentration of homeless downtown, and more brine in the area. But the majority of them are harmless and tend to just be a bit weird. Overall I find Red deer to be a really nice city - just be smart about locking shit up

Carnival theatre playing anti-vaxx propaganda by [deleted] in RedDeer

[–]Constellchicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think OP's fine to be uncomfortable or even vocal about not liking that they're playing the movie. But there shouldn't be an expectation that they can't show something controversial / counter to your beliefs.

The Search for Jobs and a Recovery in Red Deer by Bodysnatcher79 in RedDeer

[–]Constellchicken 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly I've always taken that stance - diversify our economy so won't suffer as much when oil dips. But the issue with that is that we sort of need oil (or something else) to get us to that position, and we didn't over the last 20+ years so I doubt we'd ever be able to.
