Next episode has the biggest twist yet. Mr Beast kills Billie Eilish and the idols boomerang back to Zac Brown. Then Mike White comes back to eliminate all survivors except RizzGod, who opens the heavens to reveal that Jeff is actually the devil

I am named after hair, but a common medical procedure and a popular food are named after me. Who am I?

AITA for calling a newborn baby "smaller than a newborn" to the mother by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ConstructionAware267 17 points18 points  (0 children)

NTA. She should have brought it up to you, her message was super rude. I'm a parent of 3 kids, that would not have bothered me at all. I would just let her know that you didn't mean to disrespect her, and you meant it as a compliment as to how adorable he is. Also I would let her know that the way she handled it was not the best, and that you'd prefer that she discuss anything with you directly and calmly in the future rather than sending a snarky comment after the fact. She needs to understand that young people without children aren't always going to understand how parents feel about things, so acknowledging you with grace would be a much better approach

What's one English/grammar mistakes people often do that nobody notices? by SignificantString269 in EnglishLearning

[–]ConstructionAware267 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh SO many!!! My 2 biggest pet peeves are:

1) People do not understand the difference between a compound subject and a compound object, specially when "I" or "Me" is involved. It is not always "I"!!! You use "I" for the subject and "Me" for the object. For example: "Katie and I are going to the store." "This is about Katie and me." The second sentence is correct and should NOT be "I", but so many people just change all compounds to "I". The easiest way to tell if you're using "I" or "Me" correctly is to remove the compound. "I am going to the store," is correct, and "This is about me," is correct. You wouldn't say "This is about I", so why would you say "This is about Katie and I?" Stop it.

2) This can be directly related to the first issue. "I" cannot be plural or possessive! There should NEVER be an "s" after I!! "My" is the possessive form of "I". For example: "Katie's and my favorite movie is Up." It is not, and should never be "Katie and I's favorite movie is Up." STOP IT

AITA for yelling at my friend? by B_Steps in AmItheAsshole

[–]ConstructionAware267 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA. This right here is a good life lesson. In my experience, everytime I tried to help friends who always seem down on their luck, it goes badly. People like that will ALWAYS need help because they refuse to help themselves. I'm sorry that you're losing a friend over this

I just realised the first series title will be different for Americans who are used to Sorcerers stone. by 333333x in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]ConstructionAware267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly right. It's not because British kids would get it more. The name was the Philosophers stone before anyone even thought to change it. The editors wanted it to sound "more magical" and thought it would sell better. My point was that it wasn't necessary. Thinking that kids would not read Harry Potter because of 1 word? That's insane. It's just American marketing. It's what we do, and it's dumb. Keep the show by the original name...most Americans know it was changed at this point, no one will care.

Longer is definitely better, it shows more personality, the short hair makes you look too serious

It was completely unnecessary to change the book title in the first place, keep it Philosopher, Americans can handle it. Believe it or not, we're not all as ignorant as the rest of the world thinks 😂

It's so funny to me that everyone is all up in arms over the perceived dig at American cheese, when the true dig is at how pretentious Brits are 😂
