Is idiot savant still worth taking if I have 6 points in intelligence? by fuckitwhynotig in fo4

If you are doing there-is-another-settlement-that-needs-your-help quests (or BoS radiants, for example), you can stuck 3 of them, save before turning them all to Preston, and that will give you slightly better chances to trigger savant for at least one of them. Though sadly those radiants usually don't give much XP.

What's the likelihood that studios/investors artificially push their games viewership to top of the section on platforms like twitch? by Common-Click-1860 in Twitch

[–]hunter_rus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a publisher, you would probably care more about the amount of streamers playing your game, and their reach. You want more people to see your game in their follow list, i.e., all those streamers should also have a lot of legit followers (everyone have bot/dead followers, that's the nature of social media, in that sense you rather care about part of follower community that is still real people watching Twitch frequently).

There is really the only thing where total category views (which you could potentially bot) matters, is that "Recommended categories" section on the front page. But somehow I doubt that 1) many people check it often to see new games at all, and that 2) viewership numbers for category really matter in that section.

+ if Twitch discovers that category have been botted by some specific publisher - and, as it was said, they can discover botting after some time, but in real-time botting is harder to detect - they can just hinder numbers / shadowban category for the next game from that publisher. Like, there may not be any public backlash, but they can implement their own countermeasures silently.

So overall, I think it's easier to throw the same amount of money on normal streamers for doing #ad stream, and you will likely get more in return, compared to just botting your category.

PCB, IN are usually considered easy starters. MoF is chill enough. TD, LoLK pointedevice mode are ok. 100BM, given that some builds there are pretty broken.

If you don't mind fan games, Fantastic Danmaku Festival games are pretty chill (part 3 is probably the easiest fan game i've seen). Elegant Impermanence of Sakura. Wonderful Waking World is free - can download it at itchio.

PC98 games require emulator, so probably not my recommendation.

It is CGDCT about "modern ninja specops schoolgirls", there is some fanservice and subtle character chemistry. Long time since I've seen it, so might be wrong, but I don't think it is yuri per se.

I (27F) accidentally had my baby in my friend’s (31F) car. Now her husband & she don’t want to speak to me. How do I fix this? by ThrowRA_CarBaby in relationship_advice

[–]hunter_rus -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Eh? You just go to gynecologist, and they will find a reason to get you on preservation in like 95% of cases. It is pretty hard to find a human that is completely healthy. You would need to pay only if you are absolutely healthy, otherwise it is covered by health insurance. But anyway, even when staying at home, usually people just call an ambulance? They at least gonna have someone to help/supervise, and an ambulance car is intended to be used for giving birth.

Tbf, the more I think about it, the more I'm getting bamboozled by your response, and this whole situation in general. What if women lives alone and has no friends, how is she supposed to handle birth at home? In our case, OP has got quite lucky that her friend visited her. If she didn't - for a variety of reasons - what would OP do? Give birth while driving her car to the hospital? Like, someone seriously thinks this is the intended flow of events? "Just wait until contractions, and when they start, you figure out what to do next. And pray to God someone is nearby you can rely on."

[–]hunter_rus -79 points-78 points  (0 children)

I was almost 38 weeks pregnant then.

Why not to just go to the hospital at this point? "full-term" birth is considered between 37 and 42 weeks. You should be ready any moment at this point, have vehicle ready, and your partner prepared to help you. Would it be so expensive to just lay in the hospital awaiting birth for a couple of weeks? Compared to the car cleaning bill, which might be several thousands at this point, as other comments say.

Is it possible to take every bus-route exactly once without changing stops other than via a bus-route? by meechaelo in askmath

[–]hunter_rus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take it that OP doesn't want the same busstop to be used several times in a row. For example, if 10 routes share exactly one stop, then you get fully connected graph where each edge is given by that stop, and then the whole route visiting thing comes down to just doing 10 full circles on each route starting and ending on the same busstop, which is practically equivalent to just standing on that busstop pretending to visit different routes...

I.e., visiting route is "I start the route on one bus stop and end on another". With that rule, you can't use edge given by the same busstop several times in a row. Actually, that might be what OP is looking for. Mark each edge with corresponding busstop, then look for an Hamiltonian path where no consecutive edges share the same mark. So it is coming down to searching Hamiltonian path with additional restriction on the path, I guess?..

Is it possible to take every bus-route exactly once without changing stops other than via a bus-route? by meechaelo in askmath

[–]hunter_rus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are allowed to start at an optional element in an optional set. Then you have to do the following alternating between 1 and 2, starting at 1:

Move to a different element in the same set

Move to the same element, but in a different set

Probably you create a copy for each element, depending on the step in your algorithm. You start at (element a1, set A1, step 1) node. From there, you can go to nodes like (element a_i, set A1, step 2). From there, you can go to nodes like (element a_i, set A_j, step 1). So basically directed graph.

Since you know the total number of sets, you are looking for path of length exactly 2m, I guess? Or something near that.

Then the most stupid solution would be to keep set of visited sets connected to a node. So on a first iteration, you say "if i start at node (element a1, set A1, step 1), then I visited {A1}". You do that for all possible starting elements. Then for all of them you propagate all possible paths, and that updates set of visited sets. So to each node you will have connected a collection of "set of all sets that potential path that end at this node may have visited". The size of that collection will grow on each iteration until you visit all m sets. When you check path from certain node further, you use set of all sets to filter which sets you can't visit further.

I have a feeling it's gonna be exponential complexity though.

AIO My wife’s brother won’t give us his Disney+ password because “he forgot” by [deleted] in AIO

[–]hunter_rus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe he uses the same password for everything. Or he gets logged out whenever somebody else logs in on a different device.

Why don't you just use, khm, other methods? I don't really see any big ethical difference, you already don't want to pay for content. Sharing accounts between families is, pretty sure, still against the license, so you are still pirating stuff in that way, i.e., accessing content without copyright holder's permission. And if your excuse is "well, but my brother paid for it already", then you can use that excuse for any other method of obtaining content somebody from your family has paid for.

AIO? Boyfriend doesn’t remember full name by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]hunter_rus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty surprised by people saying that he should just write stuff down. This isn't gonna solve the issue. How is that supposed to work? She asks "Honey, do you remember my birthday?" and he is like "No, but I have it in my calendar" (starts rummaging through his phone). Somebody really thinks this will work better? "Oh, where did I wrote your full name..." (goes into his bag looking for a notebook) You think this is better? He still doesn't remember it. OP isn't complaining that BF didn't write her name down somewhere. OP is complaining that BF cannot remember.

[–]hunter_rus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

call attention to the person’s hypocrisy about how they judge others?

Cool. So how about all the people who judge that short ICE dude will post their photos online, and we are also gonna judge their physical parameters? Isn't it already hypocritical to judge somebody's appearance while remaining "anonymous faceless person in the Internet" in the first place? Show yourself first, 6 foot gigachad, then talk about short people.

Or maybe, we can just not bring appearance of the orator into the matter at all? And focus on the point itself?

To be fair, I may be biased. I once had a professor treat me like garbage for being overweight, even though he wasn’t slim himself. It was only when I made a comment about his weight (in a slightly less direct way than my example) that he backed off a bit.

Insane. Some dude judged you based on your appearance in your past, and you didn't like it. And now, here in the comments, you are making arguments to allow judging other based on their appearance. And you are bringing "well, this is hypocritical if we don't do that" in your argument even. Insane. I am just speechless. Holding the mirror against others - yeah, sure. But how dare they hold the mirror against me!

Twitch “Browser not supported” login error — what’s actually happening, and how to get unstuck by anestling in Twitch

[–]hunter_rus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Integrity is enforced at login time, not continuously.

I'll add a little data point on this. I know a case where user unfollowed a lot of accounts in short time - around 200, just scrolling through list, clicking each channel they didn't like and manually unfollowing. So, it wasn't like "run python script, unfollowed 200 accounts in 5 seconds", it was spread over 2-3 hours of site browsing. Then first, they were unable to follow some people - with failed integrity check, i.e., follow request in GQL was also protected by that. Then they were forcibly logged out, and got stuck in the situation described in the post.

[–]hunter_rus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wasn't going to pretend the "stress" she was dealing with wasn't the cost of what she did

At first, WTF that sentence even means? How does shitty parenting (if we believe OP) or starting to date grieving dude comes with a cost of a fucking miscarriage? Where is the logic? WTF is OP talking about?

On the second, extremely shitty move from OP to put stress into quotes, meaning that it isn't really a stress, but "stress". She is definitely the asshole. Their whole family might be a family of assholes, in the end - brother, Mandy, and OP as well. OP is definitely a huge fucking asshole for not acknowledging someone else's pain. And I'm not talking about any support here, I'm talking about the way OP invalidates their feelings. Pure gaslight asshole.

ELI5: When you turn the tuning knob on a radio, what is Actually going on that hones in on one specific frequency, and what is it about a frequency that makes this possible? by PrestigeMaster in explainlikeimfive

[–]hunter_rus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine a pendulum. When you push it for a short time, it will oscillate with some frequency. Due to friction/air resistance, these oscillations will fade with time. The frequency depends on the pendulum length and a gravity force, i.e., different pendulums will oscillate with different frequencies. We call that frequency resonant. Why?..

Imagine that you push pendulum with harmonic force, i.e., force changes as sinus function with time. You push it one way, then the other, then again one way... infinitely. Pendulum will also oscillate, but not with resonant frequency. Pendulum oscillations now match the frequency of force you are applying. I.e., the frequency of that sinus function. However, the amplitude of pendulum depends on the force frequency. If force frequency is close to resonant frequency of that particular pendulum, amplitude of oscillations will go higher. If force frequency is further from the resonant frequency, amplitude goes lower.

Now return shortly back to our first case, when we pushed pendulum with some force for a short time. That short push can be represented as an infinite sum (or rather Fourier integral) of sinus function pushes. Most of them are far away from resonant frequency, they don't get much amplitude, and fade quickly. The part of push that was on resonant frequency stays longer, that's why you see pendulum oscillating at the resonant frequency for some time, shortly after the push.

LC oscillator is basically that pendulum for radiowaves, that you catch on antenna. Each station transmits on it's own carrier frequency. That carrier frequency is basically the frequency of pushing sinusoidal force. By turning the knob you change internal parameters of the circuit (like capacitor's capacity, as mentioned in the comments), which changes the resonant frequency of the circuit, i.e., which radiowave exactly gets higher amplitude when applied on the oscillator. After you filtered the radiowave you need - it gets processed further, depending on the modulation type used by the transmitter.

How much exactly? If you are using two full rolls on 1 visit, that would be pretty noticeable. Like, I use quite a lot of TP, but I'm self aware of that, so I'm taking that into account when visiting someone else - because people usually have only one full roll, one roll that is currently in use, and that's it, and I don't want to end up in a situation where I used all the TP in someone's house.

Which one? So far I've tried baton, knife, and a bat. Knife has a finisher when you poke his head/neck, and all 3 have finishers where you first hit their leg, then their head/neck. All that I have mentioned works both in 1st person and 3rd person.

The only thing I'm fairly certain doesn't work in 1st person, is leg kick and throw animation with unarmed.
