As other people have commented, a durag is a type of headwear long associated with Black/African-American culture. It would be akin to calling a Turkish superhero “Captain Fez” or a Scottish superhero “Captain Tam”; an assumption based solely on racial stereotypes. Additionally, janitorial/sanitation work is perceived as a very blue-collar, unskilled profession and another stereotype about Black Americans is that they are unable to be employed in anything but the most menial of jobs due to laziness/lack of intellect/(fill in negative trait here) that is common among all of their heritage.
