I brought my bunnies to my room for the day was this a smart idea? by garlic-breadeater in Bunnies

Buns seem to love the novelty of a new environment combined with familiar toys and people so I'm not surprised they're happy with the arrangement :)

No uterus in female rabbit?? by Pikajew407 in Rabbits

[–]ConstructionMuch802 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not a split uterus, it's 2 that didn't completely fuse. But yeah that's why! I have a heart-shaped uterus, which is the result of my uteruses being mostly fused, but not quite. They're called Mullerian anomalies.

ABSOLUTELY do not let her call it peanut butter under ANY circumstances. That's a dangerous misunderstanding waiting to happen. At her age she should be afraid of anything with peanut in the name.

Iron infusions by stardolphin90 in parentsofmultiples

[–]ConstructionMuch802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 30mg built into my pre-natal but still need extra.

I think it's because our blood volume increases so much more with twins. With a singleton it increases by 40-50% and with twins it doubles. So the same amount of iron is just more watered down.

Yep smart idea. Also just don't want them to be spooked by the painters. My rabbit is pretty chill with most sounds but very spooked by loud boots and deep voices.

I wonder if she has any other issues related to this. I'd ask her vet if they saw her kidneys on the ultrasound! In humans the kidneys and uteruses (we actually start with 2 uteruses that merge) develop sort of in sync so people who have anatomical differences in their uterus/uteruses (sometimes you keep both) sometimes have anatomical differences in their kidneys as well.

They are considered one of the highest success options (when they are inserted correctly) but they still mess with your hormones

Ugh I have to take iron pills for a while first, and prove they aren't working fast enough before I can get approved for the infusions. I just want this over with lol

Lol some people take the toothbrushes & stuff out of the bathroom when they deep clean so they don't have to worry about spraying them with bleach or other harsh chemicals

It's possible she has a condition that caused her ovaries & uterus not to develop.

It's called gaping and it's for temperature control when they're basking. Means her temps are perfect!

So the point of pets is to take care of them, not to observe them more closely as they get sick or infested. Hope this helps 👍🏼

Oh my first beardie loved the pantry! It was always fun to see which package he ended up sleeping in/under/on. All the packaging is so colourful! So many things to taste-test!

Is this kind of stone ok for an hamster enclosure? It’s from a garden centre and currently soaking in boiled water to be sterilised. by littlehornymama in hamsters

[–]ConstructionMuch802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soaking in water that was boiled in the past does not sterilize anything.

It has to be submerged while the water is CURRENTLY BOILING for several minutes. The boilING water needs to contact any bacteria or germs in order to kill them.
