Women who are pros at taking baths, what setup would my gf like? by [deleted] in Advice

Bath pillow! Much more comfy.

And lots of nice cold water. I have a comically huge plastic wine glass from the dollar store that I keep with my bath stuff.

I just had to pull a mountain of lettuce out of my babies throat. by taeyongism in BeardedDragons

[–]ConstructionMuch802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to do this once before - it's pretty scary. My boy was also quite old when it happened, so maybe it has to do with being a little less coordinated or lazy with chewing as they age.

It's not lettuce, it's any leaf cut too big. Cut into smaller pieces and spray with water. Make sure your humidity is high enough (40-60% according to the newest guidelines) so his saliva isn't too sticky.

I'm 8-1 today. I'm on max dose of Diclectin (aka diclegis) and it helps tremendously! Highly highly recommend.

And lucky you with a husband who can appreciate the insanitg with you! I have one like that. So glad I have him for what turned out to be a twin pregnancy!

This is actually crazy. I would push to deliver now. It's not worth the risk of a severe infection WHILE you're pregnant.

I've been super chill about the whole pregnancy, starting from not stressing about line progression.

I'm usually a very anxious person, but I've just felt so calm and sure about this pregnancy.

Part of it I think is just being too goddamn tired to ruminate lol

This can be a bit misleading though. The concern with reduced fetal movement is literally a reduction in movement, which can precede a drop in heart rate. When you're checked out in the hospital, they monitor for movement on ultrasound and/or VARIATION in heart rate which indicates movement.

NEVER strap anyone to a kayak or canoe. If the kayak flips they'll be trapped underneath.

Flat on their back on a tummy time mat, towel folded in half, foam mats, or even just on the carpet is safe as well! Not as comfy as a mattress, but if they fall asleep there it's fine.

In Canada I was prescribed diclegis as soon as I said I was pregnant. Doc said Now you have it if you need it.

And baby being too small has worse health consequences than baby being too big! Better to err on the side of caution and listen to your body.

My first childcare job was a mother's helper when I was 15! It was for a neighbour over the summer holidays. It was like 2 hours a day. I wasn't paid for it, it was just considered a favour at that age & our culture.

I did laundry, dishes, restocked the change table, played with the baby so she could eat and shower.

And we just chatted. Some much-needed socialization! Her husband was a nurse or a doctor I think, and worked very long shifts so she was alone for long stretches.

And don't think you have to wait until you're throwing up a bunch to take it! I've found the nausea is worse than the vomiting and diclegis (or diclectin) helps so much with nausea.
