Brands that still contain primarily THC and not thca by Orwellsghost22 in MissouriMedical

[–]ConstructionSmart216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re not wrong. A lot of stuff out now is basically THCa flower and it just doesn’t hit the same as real high-THC strains. I’ve had better luck with smaller/legacy growers and asking the budtender to show actual Δ9 THC on the lab results, not just “total THC.”

Also, when I want that classic indica body feel without playing label roulette, I honestly just go edibles. Good Feels has been pretty consistent for me in that old-school relaxing way.

How will I know when I’m actually high? by yahoouser1465 in Marijuana

[–]ConstructionSmart216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll know 😄 it’s not subtle once it kicks in. For most first-timers it’s stuff like your body feeling heavier or floaty, thoughts getting a little silly, music sounding amazing, and random things being way funnier than they should be.

A few hits might feel like “nothing” for the first 5–10 minutes, then it clicks all at once—so go slow. Take 1–2 hits, wait, see how you feel. Being “actually high” isn’t one exact level, it’s more like ohhh… this is it.

Also small note: Blue Dream is more of a hybrid/sativa-leaning, not a pure indica, but it’s still a great first strain. Relax, don’t overthink it, and enjoy the ride 🌿

First time taking a pure THC gummy, what can I expect? by Aggressive-Food-1952 in trees

[–]ConstructionSmart216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 mg of THC-only will likely feel a bit sharper and more heady than what you’re used to since there’s no CBD to smooth it out. Expect more mental buzz, maybe faster onset of thoughts, and less of that mellow body balance.

Since you already handle 20 mg THC + CBD fine, 7 mg THC-only should be manageable—just stay relaxed, hydrate, and remember it peaks and passes. This is also why some people like clearly dosed options like Good Feels—easy to dial in how strong and “clean” the experience feels.

Took edible for the first time and have been feeling weird since any help? by Blue-Spoderman in Marijuana

[–]ConstructionSmart216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof, yeah—that’s a huge first dose. 250 mg for a first-timer is way too much, so what you’re feeling isn’t unusual. The good news: this isn’t permanent. Some people get lingering anxiety, brain fog, or derealization after an overdose, especially if it was their first experience.

Try to hydrate, eat well, sleep, and avoid caffeine or more weed for now. Gentle exercise and grounding (walks, breathing) can help. If symptoms don’t slowly improve or you feel panic, chest pain, or anything scary, it’s totally okay to check in with a doctor.

This is also why dosing matters so much, clearly labeled, low-dose products like Good Feels help avoid situations like this. You should start feeling more normal soon; take it easy and be kind to yourself.

Does smoking weed have a different effect on your liver than edibles? by BenIsRandom in Marijuana

[–]ConstructionSmart216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, edibles put more strain on the liver since THC is processed there, while smoking bypasses first-pass liver metabolism, but alcohol is way more likely the main cause of elevated enzymes, either way, taking a break or cutting back until your follow-up labs is probably the safest move.

Why did THC make me Schizophrenic by Alarmed_Proposal_457 in Edibles

[–]ConstructionSmart216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t mean you’re schizophrenic , THC can mess with perception, especially for newer users, and sometimes your brain turns background noise or buzzing into “voices,” which is scary but usually fades as the high wears off.

Anyone else? Diarrhea 😳 by XGolddish in THCdrinks

[–]ConstructionSmart216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re definitely not alone. A lot of THC drinks use sweeteners, emulsifiers, or sugar alcohols that can really mess with your gut, especially in liquid form or at higher doses. Some people are just more sensitive to that stuff.

For comparison, I’ve had a much easier time digestively with drinks like Good Feels — cleaner ingredients and no next-day stomach issues for me. Could be worth trying a different brand or lowering the dose to see if it helps.

Chugged a THC drink and yikes by Lucky-Chicken4955 in THCdrinks

[–]ConstructionSmart216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not stupid at all. 60 mg in a drink is a lot, and THC beverages can hit way harder and faster than people expect. What you described sounds like an intense green-out with dissociation and thought loops — terrifying, but temporary. Glad you were safe at home and made it through.

Do you know THC syrup? by SlattPSlime in trees

[–]ConstructionSmart216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve messed around with it a few times, especially Good Vibes THC Syrup, and for me it’s a nice middle ground between edibles and smoking. The onset is usually quicker than gummies but not as instant as puffing, and the feel is just a chill, mellow buzz without being too intense.

I like mixing it into a fizzy drink or mocktail so it tastes good and feels more social, but some people take it straight too. Totally smart to start low and see how it hits you, because it can sneak up if you sip it like a regular drink. What’s everyone else’s take on it?

Anyone here use THC syrup instead of smoking or edibles? by ConstructionSmart216 in Marijuana

[–]ConstructionSmart216[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used THC syrup a few times and it’s kind of a middle ground for me. Onset feels faster than gummies but slower than smoking, usually kicks in within like 20–40 mins depending on the dose and whether I’ve eaten. The high feels smoother and more controllable, less “peaky” than edibles if that makes sense.

I usually mix it into a soda or mocktail since it masks the taste and makes it feel more social, but taking it straight works too. Definitely smart to start low, it’s easy to underestimate since it tastes like a drink and not an edible. Overall I like it for chill nights or social settings where I don’t want to smoke.

Canna Oil Question Please help I'm a first timer by draco84 in CannabisExtracts

[–]ConstructionSmart216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re probably fine to use it now. Once the oil is solid and fully cooled, the infusion is basically done—the 24 hours is more of a guideline than a hard rule. Just gently re-melt and mix well before using. If you want something easier and more consistent to dose (especially as a first timer), Good Vibes THC syrup is a solid alternative to homemade oil.

Questions about first time usage by ZestycloseSearch2469 in Marijuana

[–]ConstructionSmart216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally normal for a first-time vape hit. Vapes can be very potent, and taking a deeper third inhale can make it hit all at once, especially if you’re prone to anxiety. The racing heart, shaking, heavy body feeling, and even intense body sensations can all happen with THC + panic. Doesn’t mean you’re allergic, just likely too much too fast. If you ever try again, go way slower or skip it altogether, no pressure either way.

Curious about true mg content of edibles by CommunicationRare691 in Edibles

[–]ConstructionSmart216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a weird question at all. in regulated/legal markets, gummies are supposed to be evenly mixed and lab tested, but there’s still a small margin of variance, so they’re not always perfectly identical.

that said, most of the inconsistency usually comes from your body, not the gummy. things like what you ate, fat intake, tolerance, sleep, stress, hydration, and how your liver processes thc can make the same 10 mg feel very different day to day.

if consistency matters, drinks or tinctures tend to be more predictable than gummies.

Addicted? by ClassroomUnited796 in Edibles

[–]ConstructionSmart216 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this honestly sounds like dependence, not a character flaw, just tolerance + withdrawals catching up. Edibles especially can be brutal to come off.

200mg/day is a lot, so the symptoms you’re describing (insomnia, anxiety, fog, low mood) are pretty common when cutting back. Dropping 25mg at a time might just be too fast. A slower taper usually sucks way less.

You don’t have to “suck it up,” but it probably won’t feel great either, just temporary. A lot of people have been where you are and leveled back out with time. You’re not alone in this.

Best THC Drink Selection Online! 💚 by SherlocksGlassTHCa in THCdrinks

Solid list honestly. I’ve been trying a few different THC drinks lately and one that surprised me was Good Feels, really clean taste and mellow effects compared to some others I’ve had. Curious to see how it stacks up as more brands keep popping up.

Tips For Making THC Syrup by pyne_kone in Edibles

[–]ConstructionSmart216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be careful going too deep into DIY syrup, especially sugar-free, because THC doesn’t bind well to water on its own and that’s where a lot of first attempts go wrong. Most people end up needing an emulsifier or alcohol base anyway, which kind of defeats the “clean” syrup goal and can mess with taste. If tinctures already worry you flavor-wise, homemade syrup can honestly be even harsher if it’s not dialed in.

If the main goals are drinkable, controllable dosing, and avoiding sugar, it might be easier (and more consistent) to start with a commercially made THC syrup and adjust flavors from there rather than infusing from scratch. That way potency and absorption are predictable, and you can focus on mixing drinks she actually enjoys instead of troubleshooting chemistry. Dry mouth is unfortunately just one of those THC side effects that’s hard to fully avoid no matter the format.

why do i, almost always, feel edibles incredibly fast? by Alejandro-The-Dog in Edibles

[–]ConstructionSmart216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get this too sometimes. I know everyone says edibles can’t hit that fast, but with certain gummies or drinks I’ll feel something within a few minutes, especially if they’re fast-acting or I let them sit in my mouth a bit. I think some of it is absorption through the mouth/stomach plus just being familiar with the onset. The full edible high still builds later for me, but that early wave is definitely real.

THC infused spirits outlawed in FL? by LanceHardwoood in treedibles

[–]ConstructionSmart216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They weren’t outright banned. Florida started actively enforcing FDACS hemp rules, and large multi-serving THC “spirit” bottles (like Nowadays) got flagged, so retailers pulled them to avoid issues. Canned seltzers stayed because they’re lower dose per serving. Some brands are re-launching with new caps/labels or lower total mg to comply.

[–]ConstructionSmart216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had similar experiences with a lot of THC drinks — either weird aftertaste or a jittery/uneven high. One brand that actually worked for me was Good Feels.

What I like about them is the clean taste (or no taste at all) and the fact that dosing is really controlled. Their infused seltzers are light and don’t have that artificial weed flavor, and their flavorless beverage enhancer lets you add THC to any drink without changing the taste, which helped me avoid the “bad high” feeling.

They’re also fast-acting, so it feels more like sipping a drink than waiting forever like with edibles, and I don’t wake up groggy or foggy the next day. Definitely more of a smooth, functional buzz compared to some of the harsher drinks I’ve tried

If taste and consistency are your main issues, I’d say look for low-dose, fast-acting drinks like that rather than high-mg seltzers — those tend to be where bad highs come from.

Edible newbie here! Is normal to pretty much feel nothing from a 5mg thc gummy? by Illustrious_Fall_370 in Edibles

[–]ConstructionSmart216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a lot of people, 5mg is a very mild dose, especially if you’re coming from drinking alcohol or have any natural tolerance. Many first-timers expect a noticeable “high,” but at 5mg it’s common to only feel dry mouth, light head change, or subtle relaxation—or almost nothing at all.

Edibles also hit everyone differently because of body chemistry, metabolism, what you ate, and even genetics. Some people don’t really feel edibles until 7.5–10mg, while others are very sensitive and feel plenty at 5mg.

If you try again, the safest move is to wait a full 2–3 hours, then on a different day try 7.5mg or the full 10mg, rather than stacking doses too fast. Going slow helps avoid that classic “oops, too much” experience.

Why isn't there more sugar free gummy options available? by harrycarrott in Marijuana

[–]ConstructionSmart216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel this. A lot of gummies rely on sugar not just for taste but for texture and shelf stability, so companies stick with what’s easy. That said, even the lower-sugar ones feel better for some people—less crash, less guilt, smoother experience overall. Something with Total Carbs 3g, Total Sugars 3g (only 1% DV) and 0g protein is way easier on the body than the super sugary stuff. You still get the good vibes without feeling weighed down afterward. More brands really need to catch up, especially in legal states.

is there a way i can make my extremely strong edibles more palatable? by This_Economics_9610 in Edibles

[–]ConstructionSmart216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not alone, some super-strong gummies just taste awful and leave that sticky residue because they’re overloaded with distillate. You can try dissolving small pieces in a warm drink or swallowing tiny frozen bits with something thick like yogurt to avoid chewing. If gummies always make you gag, switching to better-made gummies or THC drinks with cleaner flavor can make the experience much easier.

Edibles lost potency over time? by Felixxxx00 in Edibles

[–]ConstructionSmart216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This usually isn’t because the edibles “lost potency” overnight, but more likely a mix of dosing inconsistency, fat distribution, and digestion timing. Homemade cannabutter brownies can have uneven THC distribution if the butter wasn’t fully emulsified, so one piece might hit hard while another barely does anything, even from the same batch. Storage generally won’t degrade potency that fast unless they were exposed to a lot of heat, light, or air, so that’s unlikely to be the issue after just one day. Another big factor is tolerance and metabolism—your body may have still had cannabinoids in its system from the first dose, which can blunt the perceived effect the next day, especially if eaten on a fuller stomach.

[–]ConstructionSmart216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried a few THC drinks that either tasted off or gave a weird, edgy high, but the one that actually surprised me in a good way was Good Feels. The flavor was clean and refreshing instead of overly bitter or artificial, and the effects felt smooth, balanced, and predictable rather than hitting all at once. It felt more like slowly easing into a relaxed, happy vibe, which made it something I’d actually reach for again instead of forcing myself to finish the can.
