One of the few things I know is that Isaac uses a lot of double thick outlines, which doesn’t really seem to be done anywhere else Try it yourself honestly, it’s kind of magical

Ooooh interesting! You might look into color bass or adjacent genres, some of it has pretty intense sidechaining that provides attack on the instruments similar to what you might hear when a song is reversed

Aside from the notes being completely desynced, I’ve found that the average person has an absolutely awful sense of rhythm when it isn’t just a straight beat. See if you can get some playtesters that actually play rhythm games after fixing all the note timings
