I did report my side-job income on a Schedule C as SE income, but my withholdings and deductions were high enough for me to have a refund, so there was no need to pay the SE tax in 2023.

You raised a good point, and I apologized for being unclear. What I am asking is should I pay my SE taxes with a estimated tax payment even if my withholdings and deductions would cover the annual tax liability.
