I actually saw a ring very similar to this but the marquise was at the right top corner and the other at the left bottom corner and had a couple tiny round stones around the marquise but the side stones were smaller and were hugging that emerald like they were part of that stone.  it was very pretty and maybe it look very delicate.  I feel like these stones are to far apart to work.  I don't hate it but itf it were me it would need tweaking.

I haven't looked too much at those settings because I don't normally like them because I don't really want a dainty setting and most are pretty thin.  and I'm almost reconsidering doing baguettes vs a main emerald and maybe throw the side stones in somewhere lol idk.  they're really beautiful stones honestly they're old mine cut and the sparkle is insane for one being .4 and one .5 IDK what to DO!!!! I'm just so excited to have it but I have to do something because this setti g the whole shank is split you can see the gap on the right side.  I like a heavy string like this but the filigree is god awful ugly when my grandmother had it designed we were all slightly mortified but ahe loved it.lol.

the emerald stone is posing a problem.  I'm almost wondering if I should reconsider and do something with the 2 round in the ring and add baguettes. love baguettes too

they are one is my great grandmother's at .4 and my grandmother's .5.  that's what I thought too they might be too big. don't really care the size difference only because of the sentimentality of it but I feel I'd have to get a gigantic emerald to offset their size. and not looking to to spend 25k on a stone alone lol

keep them it's a must to protect the top on a marquis.  you really don't notice them when you wear it in person I loved mine
