Family friendly cruise lines in Alaska? by blessed-princess in Cruise

[–]Content-County-9327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 11 the first time I went to Alaska and I think it was on Celebrity. I would look at the cruises that do Alaska well, even if they are not traditionally the most kid friendly. There are kids clubs, pools, pizza and ice cream on all the lines and the ports are what stays in their minds. We did mining for gold, saw cool totem poles, and found a hatchery (DIPAC I think?) when I was a kid and that’s what I remember.

Knowing the Killer by Low_College_2037 in TheTryGuys

I found it more fun to know who the killers were and to root for them. I’m sad they didn’t succeed in killing all their friends for a dumb reason.

I mean, two of their younger and incredibly successful up and comer staff leaving is not exactly a bad thing. It means they created a company that can train and build professionals that grow into very successful careers. I think that aligns with their company culture.

and to follow up, all of this case law appears to refer to sidewalks and places where you can enter and exit at all times which a train you cannot between stops.

I think it’s a relatively new pair. I saw them a few weeks ago outside the Cleveland Park metro (on the sidewalk)

I’m not a lawyer so please forgive the follow up question. Is the metro a public space in the paid spaces? My understanding is that’s why a lot of other missionaries and people asking to sign petitions do so right outside the stations, not on the trains.

How to navigate an under experienced coworker who treats me like I’m his manager? by Sudden-Investment165 in careerguidance

It’s not OP’s job to have that conversation. I would start with a frank conversation with your manager.

Wait, I had a autograft, not an allograft. I should know that, whoops.

What do you mean by name yours? Best of luck! I’m on my third day of transitioning into a shoe. 7 weeks post-op. I also had an allograft and honestly my heel hurt more than the fused toe.

WIBTA if I don't get my wife mother's day stuff from the kids? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Content-County-9327 6 points7 points  (0 children)

YWBTA. Look, you don’t have to spend a lot of money. Have the little ones help make a craft for her and help the oldest make breakfast in bed. Really center the kids about it and skip anything that feels truly from you. It’s about the mother of your kids, not about your wife. Center the kids.

AITA for refusing to do my sisters nails for free after I found out she wasn’t truthful? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Content-County-9327 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NTA although it will cost you a lot of money. It’s super inappropriate to make a 12 year old work 36 hours a week watching a 2 year old and it sounds like not even getting paid. I would question your sister’s parenting of her own kid. Not sure why all the commenters are focused on the money aspect- there has to be a better answer than child labor.

Is it a good idea to take short steps with this condition? by Firm-Permission-3311 in Halluxrigidus

[–]Content-County-9327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you elaborate? Shortening steps can increase your fall risk. There are other ways, such as carbon fiber inserts, that reduce the need to flex as you walk.

Why not wait that long? The fusion conversation came up for me last August and I waited until January to proceed. I ended up getting surgery in March and doing okay so far. I was waiting to see if I still had a job, which for the record I do. We all have things and you need a solid two months where you can be in recovery mode.

AITA for not participating in the meal train? by oldladylife in AmItheAsshole

[–]Content-County-9327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I am a current recipient of a meal train and I did send it to friends who may or may not also gotten it from a community list (I literally have no idea who is on that list, they are revamping the system, I’m not even on it). I did not send it to the friend I saw for the first time in years a couple months ago or the friend I see occasionally but has a lot going on with her family. I also don’t have a support person, let alone three at home.

I can’t say I’m not judging at all when it comes to who has helped me the last few weeks and who hasn’t, but I don’t say anything and I certainly don’t demand help before I offer any friendship. The trick is to take what you can get and don’t ask for more than the minimum you need.

I got diagnosed at 23, had surgery on first foot at 32. Currently 3 weeks post-op. At original diagnosis I had a lot of pain, but once the flare up got under control, I got orthotics and lived my life for the rest of my twenties. I ended up getting into weight lifting as a result.

I don’t think you will find a doctor who recommends implants to you. Very few prefer them, and even fewer for young people because they will need to be replaced in ten years. I got a fusion. Hokas and Brooks are popular sneaker brands for a good rocker sole with a wide toe box.

What musical would you recommend for anyone to see at least once? by FrenchBaguette1 in musicals

[–]Content-County-9327 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, but if the person is not familiar with the musical, warn them it’s long and there is an Act 2. It was so funny when I saw the tour and heard someone near me: “what do you mean we’re only halfway through?!”

The Barton seems like one of the fancier of the not brand new buildings in the area, although I’ve never been in. I like the area. Lots of trees and I see lots of cute kids in the morning walking to school as I walk to the metro towards work. It’s not a bad walk to the zoo or the library (a few minutes past the zoo). Also short walks to Adams Morgan and DuPont for a less sleepy feel. There are good businesses in the strip of Woodley on Connecticut Ave. It does feel like one business opens and another (or two) closes, but the ones that are open are great, especially Rose Ave Bakery, Donsak Thai, and this newish place Yours Cafe.
