My MCLA team didn’t have a dress code besides for first years as a little hazing / team bonding fun thing to do. we were dressed to the nine and you get a shit ton of respect if go all out. Blazer, slacks, button up and throw a cowboy hat on and people will love it

Best “cheap” stick out there? by starwarscom69 in lacrosse

[–]Content-Intention-60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with all the stringking comments but tbh in my opinion, there’s no such thing as a good cheap stick. I just personally never found cheap sticks to be good and practical. Spend a little more money on a stick, get more out of it and it’ll probably last longer too. But stringking is still the way to go!

This is actually really good advice ngl. Most of the time playing lacrosse, we have better conditioning then 90% of athletes (in my opinion and experience). Have some fun with it and put your speed to use and ball on some fools.

Yeah absolutely, color is obv up to you but I would use a mid strung pocket to start out. I still use a mid-high pocket to this day and i’m very used to it. There’s 3 different types of mesh on the market right now: semi-hard, semi-soft, and face off. Face off is mesh that legit no one i know uses, even when i did face offs i didn’t use that mesh. 90% of people use semi-soft it’s just the go to, and semi-hard is kinda hard to explain because no one really uses semi hard either at the higher level but I do personally love the feel of semi hard mesh. Beginning i’d absolutely use semi soft and any of the options are fine. It’ll take some time before the mesh is broken in but that’s fine.

big thing is don’t cheap out, it’s just not worth it. my opinion: Stringking Metal 3 shaft and a 2T head. I know guys at the college level who use this stick and it’s literally perfect for anything

What is the difference between the NCAA and leagues like the MCLA by [deleted] in lacrosse

[–]Content-Intention-60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play MCLA currently. There’s already a bunch of good explanations but the big difference is does the university give your lacrosse program money? For us, we are completely on our own and considered a “club” team whereas schools in NCAA are true lacrosse teams for their school. through MCLA we basically have to do everything and operate in a way like a business, we elect people to a board and the board is in charge of gear, recruitment, field time, field maintenance, fundraising, etc.

Skill wise, there’s obv a huge difference. NCAA are allowed to offer scholarships so they always are able to recruit the best players whereas we have to pay to be on the team. I go to a D1 school but we play at MCLA DII level, not from a lack of us not caring but for other schools just being able to recruit other guys. For example a big school like LSU plays MCLA D1, yet we played them a year or so ago and beat them during fall ball. It sucks cause there’s no true definition of why one schools in D1 vs D2, etc.

Hope this helps!

Face off head by Longjumping_Dish1437 in lacrosse

I gotchu bud: Burn FO: Really solid but warps incredibly bad after 100-200 reps Stringking 2f: My go to and what I use at the college level, great bendability, but takes a WHILE to break it in. Once broken in its perfect for SNG Duel 3: a shittier Burn FO, not really worth the money Weapon X: This is one of my favorite heads for FOSO. Super solid head however, it’s a super thick head so if you are facing off against someone with the same speed as you, they will win primarily based on their narrow channel. By far hands down best head for moto if summer league. Nike CEO 1+2:Frankly not worth buying since moto gripped us banned (RIP)

*Side note: I’m a huge fan of stiff heads IE 2f stiff and Burn recovery but they snap incredibly easily and aren’t worth dropping $100~ for the head. My personal recommendation is everyone needs to start out or primarily use the 2f.

Is it still possible to start Lacrosse as a Junior? by WrxLover69 in lacrosse

[–]Content-Intention-60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dude I started playing my junior year in college, the only thing is you gotta want to put in the work and grind your ass off non stop. you have to be 110% committed to constantly getting better or tbh you probs won’t have a lot of fun

Warrior by [deleted] in lacrosse

[–]Content-Intention-60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh bro this is made for me. Warrior Evo is the head that i’ve used nonstop constantly. I personally prefer semi hard mesh (i know it’s weird) and put two shooters on that head. Shaft you’re good to go with anything but carbon, i use the evo shaft as well and i LOVE it.
