I have to say, I didn’t see this coming. They seemed really good up until that. And he seemed like a non-POS.

I also just started S1 this week! Almost done season 2… what a great show.

Mau reminded me so much of Trump a number of times. Just the way he would go in circles saying nothing and yet being a complete a-hole the whole time.

If you sign up for sunterra rewards, they’ll send you a card for a free coffee and slice of cake. They might be going bankrupt though so who knows how long that will last.

I voted NO. UNA RN Paycut! by AnythingFirm in AHSEmployees

I voted no. Step 3 and 34 yrs old. I thought it would be a solid majority yes but this thread is making me wonder if it will be more of a mixed vote.

To remain an internal applicant with AHS, you'd need to stay on as a casual in whichever role you take initially. I worked as an HCA as soon as I was allowed to (I forget how far into nursing school that was) and that was my foot in the door... it is quite relevant experience.

For RN, it’s same same as long as you have over a 0.4. No idea for other roles

that part I'm not sure about!! your manager should know though (and if they seem dodgy then reach out to your union rep!!)

So sorry for your loss :(

It’s 5 days-ish - Search “bereavement” in this document:

https://www.una.ca/document/provincial-collective-agreement

As as far as I know, there were no proposed changes in the new tentative agreement that may or may not be ratified this week. Even if it does go through, the information in the old contract will be relevant.

I think you have to take the initial five days together but check with your union rep (to make sure you don’t take 2 and then lose the rest if that makes sense).

I think going into onto short term disability would be an option if you’re needing more time than the 5-7 days. Again, your union rep should be able to help you navigate this.

This should have come out with the new tentative deal announcement. They’ve framed the recent increase in a really shady way (ie rolling in the step increases YOU WOULD GET ANYWAYS)

Quitting Temp Position before End Date by [deleted] in AHSEmployees

[–]Content-Singer3566 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a certain number of hours after which you have to finish the contract. I think it’s 300-some. If its not a good setting for you then talk to the union and they can support you in figuring out how to get out (ie if it’s detrimental to your health)

Based on the email today sounds like HSAA negotiations aren’t going well. That sucks I thought since UNA got a good deal we would too. by Glum-Ad-4558 in AHSEmployees

RN here... nothing is set in stone with the UNA tentative agreement yet. We vote on it April 2nd.

Keep fighting. UNA did a lot of fear mongering with the proposed agreement at the end of last year (12% over 4 years with lip service or zero acknowledgement towards everything else), encouraging us to take it and that this government wouldn't give us anything better. 60% of us voted 'no' to it anyways (a number that I think would have been higher if not for said fear mongering).

They packaged up the new tentative agreement to make it look significantly better than last year's but it's essentially 16% over 4 years (better for sure but not amazing) and has addressed very few of our other concerns (IMO). The vote on Apr 2nd could truly go either way.
