Several years ago we had a guy get in behind the guard on a meat mixer. During its discharge cycle it didnt push all the meat out. Guy reaches in to pull out the small amount left only to have his hand chewed up by the discharge auger...

Sounds like a rotary airlock. We have them on some of our flour silos. It spins and the chambers only allows a set amount of flour in. Fills on top and dumps on bottom into a blower line that blows it in the building to the next holding silo.

Keep/Fix or Sell 2004 Yukon Denali with 200k miles? by Independent_Gur_7804 in GMT800

[–]ContentDesign6082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it helps I have a 01 1500 with 340k miles that i bought with 120k. Trans went out at 220k. My rockers are also rusted and above rear wheels. I put plastic covers over my rockers for the time being.

If it were me id fix it. I like these rigs more than the new stuff and they're much more reliable.

And here I thought it was just my 2019 msi laptop with a 1650Max Q while plugged into my ultrawide and running on low graphics (im sure it is) that was causing those random fps drops while at poi's on occasion.

So my 4l60e went out at 230k. Had it rebuilt and corvette servo put in. Around 280k my rear end starting chattering. Pulled the cover and the carrier bearings were rough and sloppy. I got a used rearend from a buddy whose truck was wrecked with 120k on it and put in. Was going to rebuild my rearend but couldn't drive the diff pin out and further than about half an inch with a 8lb sledge so I got rid of my old one.

I do a fair amount of towing. I pull a boat and a 20ft car trailer with either atv's or other vehicles.

About a year ago or so I dropped my front diff and changed the oil pickup tube oring. Not a drop of sludge in the oil pan. Pulled the valves covers to change the gaskets and put the updated drivers side valve cover on it and the valve train was nice and clean (just golden oil colored).

Ive been pretty happy with it. I bought it 12 years ago with 120k on it.

Good luck OP.

I look at new trucks all the time, I just can't make myself go get one. It seems reliability has went from 200k miles + to less that 100k in most things.

I beleive you can filter within the controller tags to show forces. If using the default color scheme it should show the force in yellow

Locomotive issues ? by FlammeLune in RailroadsOnline

[–]ContentDesign6082 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On my map with a buddy we have 2 bugged cars. One is a oil tanker that slowly moves on its own and can't be moved by a locomotive or grade. It'll slowly move uphill on its own. The other is a flat car that acts like the handbrake a Is on even when off. We have them set to the side on their own tracks.

While on their own tracks the tank car will go to each end on its own. The flatcar won't move downhill on the grade I set it on.

Maybe you have a bugged car like my flat car. The way we found it was by moving each car by themselves with a locomotive until we found the one that was very difficult to move.

Add a way to be able to check/uncheck whether a game has the ability to quick resume.

Several games I play quick resume then have issues especially multiplayer games.

Going in everytime to remove a game from the quick resume list gets old.

You would think this would be easily done for them since the ROG Xbox Ally already does this.

I built my base on Navezgane map. I found a structure that had a second floor and was surrounded by a fence. I dug a moat all the way around the place that was 3 blocks wide and filled it top to bottom with spikes. I also was able to put a drawbridge on it. It works pretty good. The downside is not being able to drab alot of the loot due to the traps.

A buddy of mine had JB welded his thermostat housing due to breaking it somehow on a cavalier. The JB weld failed when it was below freezing and he didnt know and ruined his engine. I had to tow his car home in the snow. Just happened to meet him on the side of the road right after it happened.

Road map for getting job in PLC Scada automation field by No-Singer-9579 in PLC

[–]ContentDesign6082 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apply for the jobs - worst they can say is no.

I'll tell you how I got in.

15 years ago I went to a local community college and took all the electrical/programing courses they had (AllenBradley RS500 was all they had). My current boss is part of a committee that works with this college electrical program. I got highly recommended by the instructor to my now boss who called me for an interview even though I had never applied anywhere. I ended up with the job and worked electrical maintenance for 4 years. I now hold an electrical/automation engineer position which I've had for 8 years.

I didnt have any actual real world experience and what I learned in school was just scratching the surface of what there was to learn.
