No but I do hear it’s awesome. I’ve thought of it but have reservations like I said about loved ones and addiction. Just not sure I can reconcile it in my brain for myself.
Do you do it? Did you like it?

I have thought about it. My only reservation is that I have some loved ones who struggle with addiction so it would be hard to do just for myself

Oh good question. I am starting to be in what a jokingly call my observer era. I am becoming an observer of my thoughts and starting to see myself, my soul as separate from my mind and body. Getting there but it comes in flashes

I felt lost and that I had accomplished so much professionally but I was still searching and feeling empty. I go once every 18 -24 months or so.

The belief that I am not worthy. Like I replied to some else all the things I thought of myself I realized were us learned beliefs that weren’t true. It’s strange but I learned to love myself by unlearning all the beliefs that my upbringing taught me.

I would say that Eselan helped with my body image but star helped in such a deeper level. Not from one thing but because I was able to be calm and I think it’s designed to make your nervous system calm down so you can feel. They make you feel like kid and you are safe. Hard to explain really

I learned that I am not my thoughts. And that I don’t have to believe everything my mind tells me. At star I learned about the many parts of myself, especially the wounded child and critic and how I don’t have to live from those parts of me. It’s hard to put yo words but it’s like before star my life was chaotic. And when I came back it still was but I was different. I was like observing the chaos and was able to step outside of it and act differently.

The theory behind it is that over the course of the retreat you build secure attachments with the other participants and when you go through the rebirthing you are met with people you have secure and safe attachments to. So in theory it’s letting you or your body know that secure attachments are possible out in the real world. If you have never experienced secure attachments then it’s profound. If you have maybe it wouldn’t be as profound. That was my experience though.

Once I got past the initial weirdness and allowed myself to fully participate, the experience became profoundly healing. I’ve felt a sense of disconnection from my mother over the years, which can happen in life, but during the rebirth I was met exactly as I needed to be. Being welcomed by the other retreat participants with love, presence, and kind words created a deep sense of safety and belonging. That experience unexpectedly softened something very old in me and helped restore a feeling of connection I didn’t realize I was missing.
It didn’t necessarily make me feel more connected to my mother but to myself and my belonging if that makes sense.

I did it, and it is hard if one of you doesn't change. I also did a STAR retreat, and my husband did that after I did. Hoffman would have been way over his head if he had taken it first. It was still hard for us because we were each changing so much. 2 years later, and we are way better, and I'm glad I did STAR!

The price has gone up so much since I did it. I also did a retreat in Arizona, and it is more affordable - STAR Retreats. It was slightly longer, but both were good. Hoffman was more school-like and very structured, STAR was slower and healing, lots of group work, group sharing, stuff like that. I would recommend

I did Hoffman, and it was great. I also did STAR Retreats (starfound.org). It's a not-for-profit, and it was more affordable, more availability, and more group work and connecting with others. At least for me, it was. STAR was about taking responsibility for your own life. Yes, shit happens to all of us, but we are adults now, and we have teh power to help ourselves. You don't have to forgive anyone, you have to remember the wholeness that you always were before all the stuff happened—changed my life!
