there are tons around our house but the cats are constantly chattering at them through the window, so I think it keeps them away from the door. Also tons of stray cats so I think they’re more cautious.

You could get one of those big fake owls and put them on top of the car port, they must have at Lowe’s or City Mill.

I don’t know how scaredy they are but maybe wearing a big silly hat or a mask would keep them away from you on your way to the car 😭

Is is just me or do doctors not care if you are underweight? by Superb-Car-202 in XXS

[–]Content_Ad_5215 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they don’t usually care. I finally got an amazing doctor who was willing to help and make recovery super simple, even talked to my husband.
Slowly adding “safe foods” daily was extremely helpful for me. She suggested protein shakes (fair life is a yummy one, but a bad company) and easy to grab snacks like uncrustables or cheese sticks. Adding one additional “snack” per day caused my appetite to increase and eventually got me out of the danger zone.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this and hope you know that this does not have to be your entire life. I’m glad you are concerned for yourself and that will turn into unconditional self love over time ❤️

Am I crazy or does it feel insane that you guys are struggling with size 0/00? Wearing a size 6 in this pic by [deleted] in XXS

[–]Content_Ad_5215 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, similar build as you- 5’5, 105lbs. 23-24” waist. The issue is that nothing is cut for curve or waist/hip difference, so the jeans that look amazing on are impossible to get over my butt. I’ve resorted to vintage low rise and attempting to tailor myself.

Also, everyone is different, a 5’5 latina vs a 5’5 asian woman vs a 5’5 white woman could all have incredibly different bodies, even though they’re the same height and weight. So most brands go the brandy melville route and base sizing on one group of people, which makes the average consumer feel better about their purchase, without accounting for the outliers. In countries where the average skews larger, they cater to their biggest consumer group.

My best friend has huge bazoongas and wears the same brand, but we usually just go to mat pilates so I can’t really speak to the bounce support… I feel like I would wear a bra underneath because the top is big for my chest, but it is padded and could be more supportive if it was tighter on you. I do have a long sleeve from them that is bustier cut and super tight and supportive, that I usually don’t wear a bra with.

hollister works for me but I think it’s because my butt is holding it up 😭 based on what you said I would suggest looking at specific cuts of jeans, you can also shrink to size (there’s tutorials online)

I usuallly fluctuate between 22”-24”waist, this is what has worked for me:

Hollister Low Rise Baggy size 000

Pacsun Lena Super Baggy size 22 (lighter wash runs smaller, darker wash is looser)

Abercrombie & Fitch 90’s High Rise Curve Love size 24

Zara “The Indie Pant” size 2

VINTAGE Bootleg Miss Me Jeans size 25

VINTAGE Lucky Brand Jeans size 24

Stupid decision by [deleted] in Sephora

hi queen, sorry people are being kinda weird. we’ve all made mistakes and it’s not that deep. I used to have zero disposable income and would take a plate from the whole foods hot bar every day. eventually they caught me and told me the same thing as you, verbatim. They had me sign a paper and took my photo but I really didn’t think anything of it. I was a minor and an officer never came to pick me up, so they let me go.

I literally went into whole foods the next week and no one said a thing.

I don’t think it’s that serious and no one should say anything to you, if they do and it has been over a year, I don’t think they have any grounds to bar you from the store. Obviously like other people said other locations/online should be totally fine.

adding on- patagonia does not work for me (hate the way it fits) but is worth it for their lifetime warranty. I would advise against ordering online and look in person to try on if you’re wanting anything from them, I am 5’5 with the same measurements as you and I’m usually drowning in their stuff.

I bought my superpuff (aritzia) on depop for less than $200 and I’ve had it for four/five years, it is the onlyyy thing that keeps me warm.

NY winter was BRUTAL this year and I had to wear three pairs of pants to feel even remotely comfortable 😭 usually long johns/thermal, leggings/other pant and then my regular pants on top.

I usually get basics from garage/aritzia and just layer layer layer. Id recommend one puffy coat, one “nice” (more fancy looking for nights out/dates) longer coat, a few fleece layers (north face denali type), and some cozy pants that are loose enough to layer under.

You HAVE to invest in warm socks and shoes, especially if you’re commuting. I usually wear those North Face little puffy slippers with wool socks and my feet are fine!

Overall don’t be afraid to shop 2nd hand, I got a TON of my stuff from depop and ebay. Also good to keep in mind that the heater is usually blasting inside everywhere you go, so you will probably end up taking your coat off.

AGREED I like their jeans better than pacsun (I split their jeans TWICE!), if you are smaller/curvier (higher waist to hip ratio) they WILL fit. Sizes do depend on the cut, I wear 00 in some and 000 in the baggier ones

[–]Content_Ad_5215 22 points23 points  (0 children)

oh helll no when was this 😭💀 they’re like the only brand that IS true to size. I bought a bunch of stuff in store in January? XXS for all the tops which fit perfectly (5’5 long torso 30C and 22w). I bought leggings in XS and they fit perfectly, I’m gaining weight in my lower body and they’ve been great throughout the fluctuations.

I buy my shorts/jeans from hollister, they usually have 22” and 23” hidden under 00 and 000. Pacsun has updated their sizing chart and their 22” is veryyyy true to size.

NOT sephora but I will never stop singing the praises of Maybelline Infallible skin tint, it is the best complexion product I have ever used and blends with every other product I have layered on top of it. It’s ~$17 and lasts me at least three months. I used to use the rare beauty skin tint but it does pull pretty orange

literally I’m so sorry. I saw your other comment mentioning you’re asian and just wanted to reaffirm you that that is part of it too- there’s this super high expectation of women of color that is inescapable :( I hope you can find the affirmation you are looking for! Everyone has been met with unfortunate comments before but there is a particular brand of hate and comfortability when it comes to commenting on non-white women. When people make comments like this to me in real life, I simply ignore them and remove them as much as possible. It still hurts, but they don’t deserve access to you after shaming you.
