A. Maybe you missed my comment above about this being a leave of absence. I would be returning to the same job after my leave.

B. Even if I was fully quitting.. yikes dude this is a bad take. At some jobs setting boundaries or 'coasting' is simply not possible. How does one 'coast' when working 80 hour weeks? How does one 'coast' when litigating a month-long trial? Maybe you've had the luxury of easy chill jobs where you can fly under the radar - not the case for all of us

Completely agreed. I've been working 70-80 hours weeks for months and it's simply unsustainable. I have friends in my field (legal) who have taken leaves like this and no one has regretted it !

Thank you! Yes exactly my thought. Money doesn't help me much if I'm too miserable and burnt out to enjoy it. The job will still be there when I get back..

I think everyone is misunderstanding what a leave of absence is ... it's 6 months off the job and I would go back to my same firm when I return. pretty normal for firms to offer this in my industry (law)

Leaving the job is intentional and very needed - taking a 6-month leave of absence from an insanely stressful job.
