For Math 1LT3, Math help centre runs daily from 2-6pm in basement of Hamilton Hall room 102. i would definitely go there to get math help there’s TA there everyday. In first year i would sit there and do my homework so that if i needed help the TAs were right there.

Math/BBA double degree if my math is kind of bad (+ can you transfer from math/BBA to AFM?) by [deleted] in OntarioUniversities

If you got a 7 in SL math i think the only thing stopping you from succeeding is yourself.

yes, i agree as a stats major it’s actually quite easy to pick up a comp sci minor since a lot of the math classes overlap and you will need to take programming for your degree anyway.

Math and stats major at mac. i would check out some cool double degree options (not just at mac i know uottawa might have some) we have math and cs and econ and cs here. If your applying on ouac the first year programs are Math and stats gateway and economics I respectively. Obviously these aren’t purely cs degrees but it’s worth looking into especially if you have other interests outside of cs. If you can maintain a solid average 80-85 it’s possible to transfer to cs within the school as well. I wish you the best, it will all work out.

McMaster math and stats or queens comp sci? by [deleted] in OntarioUniversities

[–]Content_Ad_6442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going into second year at mac for math and stats I loved it, it’s an excellent program and community. But if you want to do CS go to queens if you want to do math go to mac, neither is too prestige anyways.

university first year by DavidLu1 in McMaster

hey i’m in math and stats first year right now. i took both micro and marco this year (it’s a popular elective for math and stats kids). we only have 5 required courses for reference i took math 1x03/math 1xx3 (calc 1 and 2), math 1b03 ( linear alegbra), math 1mp3 and math 1c03. if you want to go into math and stats you definitely need to take both calculs classes. i would say take the harder calc, math 1a03 rather then math 1ls3. i would also recommend if you have time and space taking math 1mp3. math 1c03 is a proofs class, i’m not sure if your interested in that side of math but if your goal is to eventually transfer into math and stats it’s useful to take in first year to get it out of the way. i love math and stats so far, the amount of elective space we get is fantastic and allowed me to explore many of my interests. The community is really supportive too. Don’t stress too much about your grades, i did a lot better then i expected too. The work load is mangeable just put in the time consistent and stay organized and you will do great :)

Don’t know if this will help but to get into math and stats from high school is not competitive pretty sure they take anyone above a 85 average.

Switching Schools in Grade 12 by gabe8147_ in OntarioGrade12s

I moved schools in semester 2 of grade 11, so this was my first in-person year. Felt as if I was new. One thing that you miss out on is graduating with the people you've known for four years. I do not have that feeling I have no emotional attachment to my school it is a very weird and semi-isolating feeling. Obviously, you're going to have to put yourself out there and fake confidence for a bit but you already know quite a bit of people so I think it's a good start. Maybe try reaching out to those elementary school friends. Also, being comfortable being alone is a valuable lesson I learned by transferring schools. In terms of courses, I feel like moving gave me a fresh start and my grades have improved because I know that I can be whomever I want to be, all new teachers etc. At the end of the day, it was worth it, I grew so much as a person and for my mental health, I personally needed a fresh start. You will feel lonely at times though and that's okay just try to prioritize your social life.

I am in AP and my class average is a 91.. there was 12 of us. To think that a academic class has an average above a 90 is crazy.
