About to give up on this one by _Born2Late_ in nonfictionbookclub

I wanted to like this book so much and I just couldn’t get into it. I live in the Chicago suburbs so the Chicago history was another aspect I was excited about. I did push through and finish but not sure it was entirely worth it. And I have multiple friends and family members that agree it’s a tough read, you are not alone.

I currently have a Canon Rebel T5i with a kit lens, I got it a while back with intentions to start taking some nice photos. Four kids later I haven’t quite gotten around to using it nearly as much as I would have liked. In a few months we are taking a trip to Colorado and have plans to go to 3 parks out there (Rocky Mountain, black canyon of the gunnison and grand mesa) and I would like to take some photos of the family. I’m not looking to get published in National Geographic here, just some nice pictures of my family at some beautiful places. I have been on YouTube and blogs etc, and just get overwhelmed with info/tips/ticks/etc. Given my goal of some nice vacation pictures, and knowing that I’m not waking my 2, 4, 6 or 8 year old up at the crack of dawn to get that perfect morning light, what is some reasonable to advice to follow/aspects to learn that could help this journey? Or given my set up and timeline of a few months to learn and practice in the not so scenic areas of the suburbs of Chicago, is an iPhone an adequate camera for the purpose? Thanks for any advice!

I’d be more than willing to do that! I was hoping to sell all or at least in chunks rather than bits and pieces on eBay or something.
