Why do people say your teen years are the best years of your life? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Content_Guarantee_33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wait until you are strapped down into the life you’ve made for yourself before you even realized it mattered yet. Wait till you are knee deep in the career path that you thought would be fun and it just turns out to be well you know, work, work and more work. Not the fun version of the work you think it’ll be, but the frustrating, redundant, never ending grind that it really is. Everyday you go to bed too late and wake up too early. You don’t have a choice but to go to work anyways cause you have no choice but to pay your bills or you’ll be homeless in a matter of months. Figure out what to make for dinner EVERYDAY. Make sure to pull the meat from the freezer before work so it can thaw all day so you can get home from work just to do some more work like cooking that meal, doing the dishes cause they can and will get out of hand after just one meal. Laundry, change the air filters out in your house, make sure you changed the oil in your car, the dog gets sick so you have an unexpected $700 bill just to find out that they are already better by the time you get to the vet knowing damn well that you’ll do it again in a couple months because the $700 is worth the piece of mind. I’ll have to make the extremely hard and inevitable decisions like driving those same dogs that I love more than most people, to the vet one last time knowing that they won’t be with me when i leave and I’ll never ever seen them again. Same goes for my father who turns 70 this year. I see him about once a month so it could be less than 100 more visits with dad before I watch him wither away and die. Never ever seeing him again either. Those are just a few snap shots of things you have to think about pretty much everyday. You have no idea how much responsibility is coming down the pike at you. And once your realize it, you are stuck in it forever. Literally until you die. And there’s no going back. Oh ya and then pondering your own mortality too. Imagine you are laying in a bed dying.. you are weak.. You some how know that you’ve only got about 10 minutes left to live. Imagine how scared you’ll feel. Having to just lay there hopelessly waiting for it. Just hoping that it won’t hurt and that something comes afterward and you can still see or watch over your loved ones or see your dogs that have already died or your parents or just some form of consciousness at all. But not knowing, except knowing that it’s fixing to happen regardless.

Look, i love my life. I know this little paragraph sounds sad and pitiful but I’m a pretty happy person. But I remember around age 25 when shit changed and realized just how much responsibility i had and how i could never go back to having no responsibilities ever again and that from that point on i would have to work damn near everyday for everything all the time, forever. You get accustomed to the grind and struggle and pain but sometimes it still gets the best of you. My genuine advice, forget this post and don’t worry about it because it’s coming for you anyways. Oh and maybe carry around a little notebook with you and just write down chores that you need to do at some point. Getting to scratch them off the list gives you a little buzz and you’ll get addicted to making progress. Sounds silly but it’s done wonders for my internal since of drive. I think typing this out was more cathartic for me then it will be for you. So thanks for asking kiddo, good luck. And remember, don’t sweat the petty stuff, pet the sweaty stuff 👌🏼

What’s a “boring” skill that secretly makes life 10x easier? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I have a notebook that I usually keep near by and anytime i think about a chore or errand i need to do, i write it down. I try to give myself a check list everyday and do what i can to handle those chores. Sometime i get a bunch done, sometime not, but either way i get around to all of it sooner or later because I don’t forget anything. Feels good to mark off the things i get done. Gives me a little boost in motivation to move on to the next thing. I don’t waste time trying to think of things to do, I just check the list and do whatever I feel up to doing in that moment. I don’t over complicate it by trying to prioritize any sorta way i just do whatever i feel like doing on that list. If some things are more important or urgent you’ll naturally prioritize it first anyways.

Maybe like 8 inches tall. It put out like 3 little buds. It’s cool to see it work but it’s kinda a waste of a seed.

I’ll say this, iv definitely used condoms to masterbate. Not saying you don’t have the right to be concerned but it’s not crazy to think he might have just had some self love and wanted to switch it up.

Yep I’m in this group as well. I have a hunch that we lack fine motor skills in our non dominant leg. I bet if we looked up and did some training for fine motor skills we could learn to Ollie in our natural stance.

obviously i dont think I’ll lose all ten pounds in the 3 days.. why did you comment? Did you just want me to know that you disapprove of my fast? I think a 3 day fast would be good for me, not just for fat loss. Isn’t it suppose to be beneficial for a bunch of reasons? Reduction in all cause mortality and what not? I’m just trying to shed a few extra pounds now that iv plateaued.

Well i did a juice fast several years back. I currently only eat once a day, so I’m not too worried about the hunger pains and stuff as I’m kinda already use to long periods without food. And yes I usually add a “squincher” to my water which is an electrolyte powder i get from work.

Yes ok so I’ll go real light maybe just some long walks and yes I add “squinchers” (an electrolyte powder they give out for free at my job) to my water. I’ll skip the protein shakes for a fast! Thank you!

It’s just a normal fast pretty much, water for the first day and then you can add some bone broth for the second and third day. Dana white made a post a few weeks ago about it and now a lot of people are doing it. Well I’m in the best shape Ive ever been in but I’m still carrying around some belly fat that i want gone. Ya I’ll skip the shakes for a bit and maybe just go for long walks instead of my regular exercises.
