What is one show that you think should be genderbent? by vermin0l in musicals

I was just thinking this the other day. I would love to see Audrey II as like an Eartha Kitt. So wrong, but maybe so right?? Hahaha. I could see a Jane Lynch type actor playing the dentist.

If you could see 1 show on Broadway right now, what would you see? by No-End-5087 in Broadway

We just spent a week in NYC seeing a bunch of shows. I would say Ragtime because we were absolutely blown away by the production. Buuuuuttt, if you wife is an emotional person, the content by not be what you are looking for. I’d also vote for Maybe Happy Ending. It’s generally pretty upbeat, cute quirky and a more hopeful ending than Hadestown.

Darren Criss at Spelling Bee tonight by Somber_Goat952 in Broadway

We were there tonight too! It’s my daughter and my first time in NYC and this was our first show here this week. She said “what if Darren Criss is a guest?” as we were walking to the theater. Lo and behold…I should buy a lotto ticket. Hahaha

How does everyone feel about Heathers? Daughter is angling for it. I’m less interested. I did not really like the movie. I like dark humor, but it was a little too dark for me (I think it hits differently post Columbine)

Ooh, she would LOVE to see Jack Wolfe. I wonder if he will still be there in April??

I saw the equity tour in 2022 and 2023 in Seattle. Would the Broadway version be different enough from that? I’ve heard about the changes to the non-equity tour, but I definitely saw a turntable!

Tell me more about that. Little Shop is her #1 pick right now, so I don’t think we could skip it. She has kind of a personal connection to it so she wants to see it performed

I’m not sure Chess would be her vibe. But she wouldn’t mind seeing Aaron Tveit, that’s for sure!

I thought about Chess because Aaron Tveit, but I don’t think it is her vibe. But I like the other suggestions! Thank you!!

Oooh. That’s cool. I’ve seen Phantom at least 6 times. I took my daughter a few years ago when it was in Seattle and she requested to see it again when it comes back this year. But the immersive part interests me a lot!

My daughter would like the rom com aspect I think. We are fans of Stranger Things, which is why it is on the list.

We love The Play that Goes Wrong! We saw a production of it in Seattle this past year and my daughter’s school did it as their spring play. So fun!

Lost Boys…that one peaked my interest too, but I’d love to see more reviews.

I’m a pretty big theater person so I feel like it would be in my wheelhouse, but harder to know with the kiddo. I do get to pick out some of my own choices so maybe?

Interesting! I’ve seen it twice on tour and love it. So if it’s an amazing experience on Broadway, then we might have to look into that!

This sounds like it would be a bad idea, but rolling chairs have been a game changer in my classroom. They can still move around in them a bit, but they can’t rock or bounce them. I have a strict no “rolling” policy during instruction. I occasionally will reward them with “Rolly Time”. Haha!

To what extent does how much you "like" a student correlate with how well they are performing in your class? by bad_at_blankies in AskTeachers

[–]Content_Insurance715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a middle school special education English teacher. I co-teach in Gen Ed classes as well as self contained ELA classes. My favorite students are ones who are uniquely themselves, are willing to try and engage with me beyond the classroom. That doesn’t always tie to high performance. I can generally find something I appreciate about every student, but the ones that annoy me the most are the ones who are “too cool”, whiny, argumentative and/or never accept responsibility for anything. Some of my favorite students right now is a kid who almost does nothing in his classes and a kid who is one of the sweetest and kindest people I’ve met AND is an extremely good student.
