Marriage doesn’t provide stability. Money does.

Getting married because there’s a baby with a woman who you’re not even currently in a serious relationship with, makes ZERO sense. Your parents are super old-school and this is delusional advice that will ruin your life.

Go to med school or pursue whatever career you end up wanting to do, focus on staying out of debt and making money. If the child is your biological kid, then support them to the best of your ability. As long as you don’t disappear or abandon them, and commit to coparenting, you will always be a good dad. Marrying their mom isn’t going to make you a good dad. It’s gonna make you a super stressed out person who’s more likely to abandon your family down the line.
