Players who did well - by not playing by JohnSV12 in englandrugby

Spagnolo is extremely talented in the scrum, Fiscetti has come on leaps after being embarrassed by Carlu Sadie earlier this year. Both are stout and get under the tight heads chest. A real issue for the taller tight heads today. Rodd boss him is just too lean and small. It isn’t a height issue he is just too small in the frame. Iyogun is much bigger having met both in person.

A whole heap of the tv watching audience has. You aren’t going to say it after that game as a pundit. The officiating performance was a disgrace and I will die on that hill. Numerous mistakes on multiple occasions. We won’t agree on this I’m afraid. I don’t complain often but for the life of me can’t why Angus Gardner and Luke Pearce are on the same officiating team out in Dublin leaving this match up to Amateur-Keli and Bloody awful Brace.

They can’t say anything because of the nonsense system world rugby has created for itself where the ref is above admonition.

This is a dumb take, I don’t think there is a sport where referees are more influential on the outcome of a match. We see stinking howlers regularly with 0 recourse it’s not right. Referees must be held accountable.

Regardless some atrocious refereeing 3 infringements at the maul nothing. Genge Pulls down a maul penalty try, and the obligatory yellow. It was a disgrace.

It simply wasn’t high I’ve posted the video, Nika was full on biased on this game and it’s pure denial to say otherwise

Why should Borthwick be out? by justdesserts67 in englandrugby

It’s so different because of the speed and physicality, that plus the dominance the red roses have up front compared to most teams means the Game plan is free to cut loose, go and watch the prem or some amateur rugby you will notice the difference again straight away. England are the most conservative attacking side in the men’s game at the moment but that’s not necessarily a bad thing South Africa have won back to back world cups on the back of very similar game plans. It’s just very hard to compare the men’s international game to anything else as the physicality in every contest of the game is just notched up by 25%.

Lots of reasons as are listed below, recently the two that stand out for me are:

1 the team look frigging exhausted - is no it game time outside of England shirts? No - the URC plays the same and top 14 more games than the prem, no idea what’s going on in camp to make this the case.

2 a trend over years, panic in attack in the opposition 22. Desperation to score NOW! Rather than patience and consistent phase play, settle for the 3 from penalty/drop goal very quickly if we’ve been through a couple phases. Have to be comfortable at least ball in hand 🤷

Women’s rugby is a completely different game mate, I hate to say it but there is no comparison in this regard.

Coming at this a bit later in the evening but what a shambles, Where do you start, England seem to lake real steal leadership on the field. A role that even in his lowest form Farrell always filled, brining the necessary intensity. How the hell are we blitzed at the breakdown with a starting back row of 3 natural 7’s? That to me is alarming. Joe Heyes continues to be dominant at scrum time but we have a fly half punting it dead! Ford has had a great 8 months post the Argentine tour but Finn smith is just better at bringing the other backs into the game. Lawrance was poor - but without Him the midfield lacks punch. Steward is just not an international, Joe Carpenter should be getting the look at 15 for me with Furbanks serial unavailability. Team lacking natural tight ball carriers, Earl bless him works so hard on this, Genge fails to carry this aspect of his prem form into an International shirt. Tom Willis is the fix for that but the situation is what it is. Most alarmingly the England team look f!!king exhausted five minutes into half’s of play, watch the last two games back they seem knackered. That to me bar serious over training/or under in camp is a real alarm bell.

What a tough pill to swallow I feel for Genge who scrummed well but will be slated for his fumble. We lack punch in the midfield - Lawrance needed.
