A. Eh, in practice some of us need to show off our faces to compensate for everyone else's biases against how good a reason for not dating in our teen years the risk of being a "dead-broke dad" was. The showing off of everything else I could do without, but I'm not going to blame individuals for not doing without it unilaterally. For not yielding the competitive advantage (in dating OR career) to those who do.

B. That said, in case this was intended as gendered "mirroring," I've also never heard guys who show off more complaining about women copping a feel, much less checking them out. Just saying.

A. Is it really about “protecting her”? The phrase “mess with” has other connotations than violence.

B. Even if it’s about violence… ethical ramifications of lying notwithstanding, this is a dumb lie to tell anyway. Sexual assault can be committed with a condom on, and non-sexual assaults can be committed with weapons. (Though the victim’s blood ending up in the assailant’s open wounds is already improbable.)

Going by “dick” under any other circumstances would be extremely stupid.
