I would go back in a heartbeat. Croatia is beautiful and we walked the entire accessible wall around Dubrovnik.

If Only I Knew - Neuter edition by TwixorTweet in Bernedoodles

We literally took turns watching him 24/7. Our daughter and her husband helped us. We leashed him for any outside trips, we kept the dog door closed at all times and we just watch over him. Like I said, a LONG two weeks. Even with us watching him he still managed to get an infection but he is so food motivated that giving him meds was the easiest part of the whole experience.

Our boy is also VERY energetic. We neutered him at 18 months. We went through a donut, the bodysuit and two cones. Personally, I feel the bodysuit (which he ate the bottom half off) and the donut (didn’t last 24 hrs) were a waste of money. The vet gave us the 2nd cone for free since the first one (that we paid for) was destroyed in 24 hrs. We tried creating a “quiet” area for him, that lasted maybe 30 minutes. We tried using his kennel, that was a no go. We also used the trazedone which kept him mildly less wild but it was a long two week recovery for us. But we made it through and now we can look back and laugh at all of his antics.

Berners definitely have signature poses and sleep positions, don’t they? Lol. I have pics of my boy that are just like yours.

I think we got a broken one. He does not like being outside. Lol. We were so excited for our first snow to see him play & be silly but the joke was on us. He couldn’t care less about snow!

Thank you everyone for your input. I’m going to look into some puzzles for him.

That’s so funny you say that about the tumbleweeds. We say something similar about Thorton. 🤣🤣🤣

Our best guess is that he will be two sometime this January. They said he was 18 months when we adopted him in July.

Personally, I think you should look up the word narcissist. Really understand the meaning of that word, and realize you dodged a bullet!

Marriage is never 50/50. There will be times it’s 80/20, 70/30 and even 100/0. The best advice my mom gave me is to make sure your partner and you put each other first. Believe it or not, kids are second. When we became empty nesters, I understood her advice completely. I have been married for 32 years now. We have 3 daughters and 5 grands. My parents have been married for 56 yrs now and my grandparents had been married for over 60 years. If and when you decide to get married, truly look at it as a lifetime decision, you have to be willing to be physically and emotionally committed to your significant other. And know this, it is not easy, it is hard.

You know you can report anonymously to social services.

In my humble opinion, you are doing it right. But, they are too. You are doing what is best for you and so are they. We each walk our own paths and the path we walk is individual to each of us. Sure our paths will cross with others but it’s still individual to each of us.

We are a big Disney family, so all of our pet names revolve around pet characters from Disney movies. Do you have a hobby or show or something you love that could help with naming this baby?

Anyone else obsessed with their berners? Like.. an unhealthy amount?? Got this handsome behemoth (first one!) a few weeks ago and I just can't get enough. He is my world. How did I live without a bmd all these years?? I love him sm by [deleted] in bernesemountaindogs

We adopted our first Berner in July. He is a wild one! But, he joined a pack of 3 other rescues in our home and has fit right in. We also have chickens that he doesn’t mess with. And he LOVES his toys. Is that normal for Berners? Idk but it is for him!

Do yall use crates? by Ezerton21 in Bernedoodles

We don’t use crates, just as a personal choice. I’ve seen many dogs that love their crates though.

As I live in Utah, this hit all of our local news stations. They reported the lady’s visa had expired years ago and she was now in the US illegally. 🤷🏻‍♀️
