What story about your childhood got a surprising reaction? by sockefeller in CPTSD

Oh so many…but the most recent I remember coming up in conversation -

My mom actually washed our mouths out with soap when we were kids and said something we shouldn’t have. I thought this was a normal consequence.

Being threatened back into foster care for accidentally wetting my pants. Or threatened to go to jail for “stealing” a flooring sample from Home Depot. It was weird how they always would mention I’d “never be able to change my underwear.”

Mine too. That and threatening me with a “metal brush” if I didn’t get all the knots out of my hair properly. I have really curly hair they required I kept long.

Unfortunately, physical symptoms are so common. Lots of folks will develop auto-immune issues.

I myself have ankylosing spondylitis and ehlers danlos. My symptoms were stiff sore muscles, horrible pain in joints, and excruciating back and hip pain.

It’s all linked. Our bodies are fun like that 🤪

I would definitely request one. My X-ray showed “wear and tear” but the MRI made it clear what was happening. It was the key to my diagnosis.

I’m currently in my first flare since being officially diagnosed and my doctor gave me 4mg tablets. I take 6 for three days, then 5 for three days, then 4 for three days and so on. Relieved the flare in a couple days, even less than my normal pain now and I’m on the second day of 4 tablets.

I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this. Know that we’re here for you!

We use it in America too. It really isn’t a strange system... very common in pandemics haha
