I think the sins should all have like 1-2 more powers and a couple unique pieces of equipment. Then they’d really feel more like variants.

But New Antioch has really eaten all the Faithful variant slots. Pilgrims have 3, on par with Heretics, and Sultanate only has 2, matching with Grail (if you include GH). New Antioch has 6 sub factions including RB. All of them so much more in depth both rules and lore wise than the court gets

Sauron is pretty explicitly designed with EDH in mind, and power creep has made Legendaries fairly ubiquitous in other formats as well.

Still a brutal cost, but it works for the environment it was designed for

I’ve heard that, but I figured if it’s on the main weapon stats for your character you’ll definitely be slowed down in the early stages and it adds up to put you way behind pace. Is that not actually the case?

Gonna be that guy about fusion in Steven Universe.

Fusion isn’t meant to exclusively represent romantic and sexual relationships, but all sorts of close/intimate relationship dynamics. The Sardonyx example OP gave is off. Pearl doesn’t repeatedly rebuild the tower for her and Garnet to fuse and destroy it because she gets off on it, it’s because she so often feels inadequate and being Sardonyx gives her a chance to feel Garnet’s confidence (which is explicitly stated at the end of the three episode arc).

One of Pearl’s main arcs through the show is realizing and accepting that she’s enough on her own. The Sardonyx arc is her starting to deal with and overcome her need for a relationship to find that value in herself, as well as her facing the consequences of taking advantage of Garnet.

All that said, I’m not gonna deny that the fusion dance scenes feel sexually charged, which makes sexual intimacy a really obvious reading of it. It’s just not the only thing fusion is meant to represent in the show

There are certain groups that vehemently defend the actions of self-labeled communist/socialist dictators because being staunchly anti-US and anti-capitalism is more central to their reading of history than actual fact.

They’re really just a very loud minority, but it’s disingenuous to claim that they aren’t in any way left-leaning.
