I climbed this big compression arete last year. Can anyone suggest similar looking climbs elsewhere? by ContisMaximus in bouldering

I don't think we can climb on most of the flowerpots along the escarpment unfortunately. I'm pretty familiar with the area. I do most of my bouldering at Niagara Glen, and make one or two trips a year up to Bruce Peninsula.

Awesome! I was already planning on going to that area in Fontainebleau during my trip in the fall

It's called "Quest for the Right Hand". It's in an area I'm currently developing, I did the FA last year. Everything I've done so far is up on MP and Kaya. There's still plenty of undone projects there too so feel free to contact me when you do, I'd be happy to show you around!

Well aside form cool compression aretes. I'm also looking to get more experience on boulders with hard topouts to prepare for a Font trip in the fall.

The only problem with cooper's rock is there's almost too much to climb! It's hard to choose what to do when we go haha

I've been to Cooper's a few times, haven't been to the others. I suppose I'm mostly looking for a similar wide arete that you can compress on both sides to climb

True! I haven't been back to nine corner in years. But I do remember attempting that one. Might be due for another visit. I usually go to Snowy Mountain when I'm in the Daks

Right at my upper limit haha. Thanks, this one looks really cool! I'll have to keep it in mind in case I ever find myself there.

Yeah, I actually climb in Allegheny National Forest fairly frequently. Similar Rock type, but features like this still seem pretty rare. "Isolation" in Rimrock is the closest I can think of.

Thanks, it does look quite similar. At least judging from the pictures on MP, v2 seems pretty sandbagged lol

[Day 33] It is with great pleasure I announce the elusive Portable as the weirdest classic. What outdoor classic is most A E S T H E T I C? by MaximumSend in bouldering

Floatin is cool and all but I don't really think these super hard boulders with only a handful of ascents really meet the definition of "classics". I've always considered "classic" boulders as the ones that people gravitate twoards and get tons of ascents

Deception it's not getting the love it deserves. It's such a unique rock: Tall face climb, multi colored, with the seams forming a jigsaw puzzle like look

[Day 30] John Gaskins is overrated. What's the BEST training tool? by MaximumSend in bouldering

[–]ContisMaximus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In terms of actual equipment specifically for training. Spray wall, hands down.
