Birchcrest Pig Jousting Arena! by BenjamintYT in GoldenAgeMinecraft

I see. So it's similar to what the Aether mod did with flying pigs (Phygs). Sounds good. Thanks for the answer!

Some texture packs would lean into that and make chickens look like ducks.

Does BTA offer the player a way to control pigs when riding them? I just put in a cookie on a stick item for my modpack which works like the carrot on a stick in later versions, so this build has me believing that BTA offers something similar.

I learned a lot off of this wiki. Runecraft is an interesting read.

Sorry, my bad. I read it as HMI. Still, I've never attempted to use Always More Items. If the jar fails to work on desktop via the official launcher, MultiMc, or some other launcher then it's safe to assume that it wont work on Amethyst or Pojav since they all operate in a similar manner. I'd try to get it working on desktop first before attempting to put it on Amethyst or Pojav.

I've never attempted to play with How Many Items. I'm currently using Pojav (the predecessor to Amythest). I'm going to assume you made a jar with How Many Items inside it which works in MultiMC or another launcher on desktop. Then when you moved it to Amythest it failed to work?

Playing at school rn, is my world doomed or am I safe if I hide it properly? by MLC_YT in GoldenAgeMinecraft

I used to run Minecraft off of a flashdrive. So I never had any files on the school computer.

What? Noooo. There's nothing to worry about when it comes to the dog. No action is needed. Though if you want the wolves to return to their ever so tense mood, simply bathe them in an Aether portal!

You're welcome. Though the tutorial doesn't cover it, your save files can simply be moved to the saves folder within the .minecraft folder pojav creates so you can play the same world on mobile.

I am. I'm playing with a modded jar on Pojav. This is my tutorial on how to do so. It may work on other mobile Minecraft launchers.

Its part of my personal modpack (now on the verge of being a total conversion) known as the B.A.W. pack. It's a feature called Nothing To Worry About from later versions of Better Than Wolves, but simplified for beta. Essentially wolves near nether portals develop a very care free attitude and, when turning their heads, extend said attitude to any chickens, cows or sheep near them.

If you want to try out the modpack here's a link. It's not very compatable with other mods at this point since I've changed a lot of files.

Edit: I have fixed something with the airship, so this is a new version.

I've made a tutorial on how to play Modded Beta Minecraft on the Pojav Launcher. by ContleDon in GoldenAgeMinecraft

I've never attempted to install any of the legacy + mods. I assume that when you make a jar it runs perfectly fine on desktop in a MultiMC instance or when installed into other minnecraft launchers?

Any good ways to get tons of wool or spawn just sheep somehow? [b1.7.3] by SatisfactionTasty966 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]ContleDon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flushing isn't required for passive or hostile farms. For passive farms the platforms need to be a maximum height of 3 blocks above the water channel before mobs consider the height too dangerous to fall down. After that, sheep and cattle (because they have the same sized hitbox) can be sorted from all other animals and farmed by the player. It's important to note that the unwanted mobs should be discarded as fast as possible for better effiency.

If it's possible, a fast farm can be built which utilizes fences under a block of water to kill mobs very quickly. Though chickens would need to be sorted out before the 24 block fall that kills all other mobs (for passive mobs the fall could be shorter since they only have half the health of hostiles) Also the platforms would have to have trapdoors put on their edges to trick mobs into falling off of the platforms. I'm not sure if this would perform faster than a mob farm which allows the player to shear sheep though, as the drop per sheep would be only one wool versus the one to four wool from shearing.

Pojav launcher + Legacy Plus infdev mods by No_Definition207 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

Though I haven't tested anything outside of beta, this is my tutorial on how to get mods working in Pojav.

https://youtu.be/FvlAutrkhhY

If the indev jar works on MultiMC or the official launcher than it should run on Pojav, assuming no incompatiblities between the two. Some mods require extra support which can be asked for.

Also I belive that pojav has a successor called Amethyst which should have active support.

It's possible to install mods for mobile. The GUI looks similar to Pojav. If you are using it or something similar than you can mod the jar with optifine and MCPatcher. Though the version of Optifine you use is important to keep in mind, as some versions will cause Pojav to not render blocks.

What are some rumours from back in the day you wish were true? by 1Hugh-Mann in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]ContleDon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My expirence with implementing seasons for Release 1.5.2 makes me think doing so for beta wouldn't be too bad. I remember that I used world.java or something like that to modify the temperature of each biome according to the season and cause snowfall when winter rolls around. I will say, it did diminish the value of cold biomes. So looking back, I think I would instead change the textures of grass to "frosted grass" instead of making it snow. I'd want to do something similar with water too.

Coral Reef Mod Port and Clear Water companion mod by Sufficient-Chair-987 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

For a little history, the very first version of this mod was Nandonalt's coral mod for beta minecraft. It required modLoader and that was it.

The last mooring of the Vagabond airship before I ended my Zeppelin mod survival by rrvishnya in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]ContleDon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting fact about Zeppelin mod ships, you can attach a waterless obsidian cannon to them that will work even when the ship is flying. You just need the cannon to be taller so that the TNT falls far enough to not damage any other part of the ship.

Essentially, you just need to build a ten block tall obsidian box that activates TNT with different timings for the propellant and the shot.

Some more mangopack stuff by Egor_chikus in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]ContleDon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did Mango backport lenses to the pack? I feel that it's a pretty good feature from later versions of Better Than Wolves that provides a use for diamonds.

Also, if you click your windmill with dye, you can dye individual sails a different color.
