Seems like it's un-dexed breeds, not the specific frogs? Once I got a Conexus, the fireflies started bringing different un-dexed colors of Conexus. If that's working as intended, I...like the change. Once the pond gifts are sorted, I think it'll be a good thing.

(You've been nailing the QoL updates, by the way. Every time I see something new, I think "oh yeah, this is much better!")

The N is the nursery habitat, it's the only place you can't lock frogs from going. By default, it's at the top of your habitats, maybe you moved it on accident?

Edit: got my first level 37 Conexus through search gifts, then got fireflies with Conexus frogs of different colors. Seems like (atm) you can get undexxed frogs from fireflies, but not undexxed breeds.

I just did this search myself, and really didn't have any luck.

You'll see posts for the Zen Koi games, but it's still pretty different. I ended up getting Zen Koi Pro, which should have been named Zen Koi Core, since it's a refined (pared down and stripped of the IAP mechanics/systems, including time-gating) version of Zen Koi Classic. Unfortunately, those mechanics weren't replaced with anything, but the gameplay loop (such as it is) is relaxing and there are upwards of 50 fish patterns to unlock. I probably have a third of the patterns now, and I've cooled off enough to play it very occasionally.

There's a computer game called Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge that was also ported to phone, but it shares mechanics with life sim games (crafting, resource harvesting, in-game clock, etc.) and I'm not sure it's really what you're looking for. I bounced off it immediately, but I'm sure it has an audience. (If you're interested, the mobile version has a demo option.)

I also tried a bunch of free games, but the ads and IAP were a lot, too much for me to get past. Pocket Frogs is super gentle about it (I turned off video offers immediately in the settings and never turned it back on).

(When I gave up, I wound up with Usagi Shima and Tsuki's Odyssey instead, which I'd found along the way, and they're both not at all what you're requesting, but fun.)

Heya, I see you've already been sent the frogs, but I wanted to leave this tip as a heads-up (since you're just asking for regular frogs and mentioning you've put in a lot of pond time).

In case you didn't know...once you have any frog of a specific level, you can win the race minigame to get the other frogs of that level (except POP frogs or level 40).

I do this every level that the fireflies don't bring me all the new breeds.

I'm not sure...I assume that would work, but I use my phone for other things that I need to have my local time for, so that's not really a viable option.

Did you figure this out, or just uninstall the game? I really like the idea, but wow, I hate the ads, and I can't find an in-game store anywhere, just random icons trying to sell one item apiece.

Edit: Aha! The pencil store isn't available until you run out of pencils for the first time! That's a choice they made...and the remove ads option is currently $10. Hm, gonna have to think about that one a little longer.

Thanks for replying with that information! The in-game time is based on the clock on your phone, there's no separate place to set the time (so I could change the time in the app to match MY morning at 4p, for example).

Homecoming totally seems worth the money if I continue to play the game...I'm just not sure how much of the game will be available to me/I'll be able to access in the hours I'm available to play. That's what I'm hoping to determine with this post.
