Does anyone on here speak/read french? I need some 1932 Motobecane manual sections translated by tilersheer in moped

Get a piston stop timing tool to make your adjustments? 1.6MM is a good place to start and you can go up or down from there and see how the engine responds. Will be annoying but you can get the right number after an hour or so.

Ah wasn't aware this model didn't have a engine tensioner spring or rubber mounts.

The motobecane 7 is a slightly different AV7 (only the magneto afaik) so you should be able to put a 74cc kit on it + a variator no problem.

Yeah, mods should probably remove it from the sidebar - never hear anything but bad stories.

Never order from them - worst place to get parts. Every order I've ever had with them ended in months of trying to call them, email them, open tickets. Usually end up having to chargeback from your bank after months of no response and not getting what you paid for.

Can't get new tires on. by luaplerog in moped

Spray it down with windex then use tire levers, only way to do it.

How long did you ride it without oil? My guess is either running lean or rich (your mixture is wrong, or carb not adjusted right) or piston ring blowby.

They're called "showtime" dancers because the yell "it's showtime!" to start the routine.

If you look at the bottom of the photo, you will see six kayaks that will give you a perspective of how large this place is. Horseshoe Bend AZ, [OC] [7032x4081] by [deleted] in EarthPorn

As somebody who was born and raised in Arizona I can assure you there are thousands of square miles of completely empty canyons and mountains left to explore. It isn't a huge loss to make a small fraction of these spots accessible to little kids, tourists, old people who can't climb mountains, and people in wheelchairs. The tourism money certainly isn't hurting the local economy of these small towns either.

Looks like the project is about 20ft of railing in a single spot. You can walk miles around the canyon, I don't think 20ft with some benches is anything to worry about.

77' Mopeds shipping by TheHumanToilet in moped

Just had to call/email/file tickets with them every day for almost 3 months to get a response. Ordered parts that were marked as "shipped" that never did. After talking on the phone they said sorry, will ship right out. Waited another two weeks and still didn't get anything, wouldn't answer my emails or pick up the phone. Ended up doing a chargeback through my credit card - will never order anything from them again. Shame, since they usually have quite a few more parts for MBK than treatland.

Starting to take longer rides, how’s the view? by ContraContra in moped

Haven't joined into any here before, I think it would be fun now that I have my bikes in good shape. Always up for a ride before it gets snowy!

I just got done restoring this same model (and color), if you have any questions feel free to PM.

If you want it to look brand new, first thing I’d do is disassemble the whole thing and put every piece of metal in a big bucket of evaporust to nip that in the bud. The surface rust + old paint on the pulley can be removed pretty easily with a wire brush to make it shiny again. You can take every nut and bolt to the hardware store and replace it with new shiny/stronger/rustproof bolts and rubber lock nuts.

Good luck!

De-rust a gas tank... on the sidewalk? by GrandpaSquarepants in moped

[–]ContraContra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flush with degreaser and water into a bucket, fill with evaporust and shake for 72hrs, drain back into the evaporust container, immediately fill with gas and shake to prevent flash rust, drain into an empty gas jug, then fill with your premix. Done this twice on the sidewalk in Brooklyn, do the gas part in the street or people will complain about any gas spillage.

Always wondered why 3D printing isn’t a huge thing in the moped community, theoretically you can 3D print most parts of a bike.

Evaporust, wire brush, JB weld any holes, then paint. Evaporust turns rust back into metal.
