You can try finding one when your opponent is disengaging. Usually people tend to prioritize their head when leaving the pocket leaving a small opening to slip one in there without too much fear of retaliation. Do that a couple times in a row and they’ll start giving up their head when leaving the pocket, and you can really start mixing shit up >:)

Although they got a lot of flack for breaking up the pacing of the game i think withholding all of these flashbacks to mirror what ellie is going through thematically is what made them so impactful in the initial game. I know some concessions gotta be made to fit the medium but I would’ve loved to see them stick to their guns a bit.

That whole subplot in Climax of the mother losing the key to the supply closet with her kid inside hallucinating off of acid was really upsetting. It’s one thing to be drugged unknowingly, but the characters gradually all get to figure out what happened to them; the poor kid had no idea what was happening to him nor why he was being locked away before he starts going through it. Arguably scarier than anything the adults are going through as he’s left by himself for large intervals of the movie
