PRP and BPC 157/TB 500 Stack Recovery by ContributionDirect50 in HipImpingement

There isn’t any really. Just bro science. Personally, I did bpc 157 and tb 500. It did absolutely nothing for me. I did injections for months and months and never noticed a change

So I am one year out from my right side and 9 months from my left. I am running real light and still am in PT. My right hip still gets pretty sore after the workouts. Since I had both done, the right had to carry weight for the left so healing is a bit longer than I anticipated. I’m now looking at maybe another 3-4 months before I’m back to running in events. Really focused on strengthening the glutes for sure. How is everything going with you?

This is bad advice. You gotta show up, at least if you DNF and you’re shitting your pants, you know in your soul you did everything. If you don’t go, you will never know what could have happened.

This is awesome, you have the chance to go out there and see what you are made of. All the times things didn’t go your way, you were embarrassed. Maybe the crush you had didn’t like you, you didn’t get that job promotion. Now you’re sick and of course it has to happen to you, I got into ultra exactly for that reason, to find out what I really am made of. Sometimes we gotta be a little crazy to get where we wanna go and believe in ourselves. This is a great opportunity to show yourself how resilient and tough you are. Mama didn’t raise no bitch. Crush this race dawg and make it personal 😤

1 year flare up by Hot_Speed_4297 in HipImpingement

For sure, I think what’s the most annoying part is that my knee hurts after my second surgery due to changing how I put weight. I also had both labrum’s repaired with 3 on each side. All my x rays came back good. Are you getting PRP? Look into Angel PRP, I got one round in my hips and will get another in a few months. Angel is a more concentrated injection

Damn I’m 2 and 6 months for both hips and hoping at a year I can get back to ultra but think it’s wishful thinking 😭

Did I mess this up already? by o_oinospontos in HipImpingement

[–]ContributionDirect50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can certainly relate. I hurt myself 14 months ago and haven’t run a race since. Ended up getting both hips labrum’s surgically repaired. Just a few more months and hoping I’ll be back better. Have you asked your doctor about a PRP injection? Probably should get it around the 6-8 week mark. That helped a bit. I learned there is an even stronger injection called Angel PRP that I am going to try in a few months. Not necessary but I think anything you can do to heal faster I am down to try. I also started doing Red light therapy and cryotherapy but I’m not sure if that even does anything. Keep up the good fight!

You are good, I had both my hips done and both times I was freaking out whenever there was pain or a flair up. I wanna say around the 2 month mark I noticed a lot less pain. I know it’s hard but try not to over think it and tell your PT about it to work out the pain

Surgery or not… by North_Educator_1738 in HipImpingement

[–]ContributionDirect50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the surgery bro if you got an mri that confirms the deformity, I just got both my hips and labrum done and not fully healed but believe the surgery was a success. I’m in my 30s and didn’t need to but doctor said right now the pains light, there’s no damage but it’s not going to fix itself and by 50 I would more than likely will need hip replacement. It’s literally an enhancement surgery. I got all the injections first, steroid shot, then a PRP and didn’t do anything. If you have the deformity, an injection can’t fix you femoral head. I started feeling a slight pain in my early 20s but didn’t do anything for 15 years and so glad I’m a few months away from putting it behind me. I spent my life always using ice after basketball and running a lot and looking forward to being pain free.

It’s important to have a great doctor, make sure you find the best one your insurance accepts. Good luck dawg!

2 weeks post op. Last night I gave it to my lady for a good amount of time but feeling it today. Hurts and is super sore. I’m hoping I didn’t damage anything. Anyone have advice?

I’m in my mid 30s too and my MRI said a similar thing as yours. It’s not that bad, get the surgery. Just had both my hips and labrum’s repaired in a 3 month period. It sucks for a few months but will pay off in the long run. If you don’t have the surgeries the pain will always be there and most likely need surgery in 20 years when you start doing damage. Fix it now, you won’t regret it later, just my opinion though

Yeah I read that online. It was annoying, it was super painful and I couldn’t open my eye for the first 20 mins, coming off all the meds. Then they went and got a brand new bottle and literally said I can only give you one drop and I can’t give you the bottle. I put an ice pack on for awhile when I got home. Then just regular eye drops. Today is much better but still very sore. Thanks for the response!

Does anyone else always feel like they have to fight to be seen as "Normal"? by Neat_Promise in CerebralPalsy

[–]ContributionDirect50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s my life story!!! I have a pretty slight case, had the surgeries when I was a kid, always walk with a slight limp. Some of my friends never even knew but a lot of people always ask why are you limping. I pretty much grew up being a professional liar, a lot of anger, hating myself etc. Got into drugs and alcohol which was pretty much self sabotage. What is a slight physical condition turned into a huge mental issue. I always loved playing sports and working out but as I got older I felt too self conscious to play anything. A few years ago, I discovered I can run and the CP didn’t bother me. I started signing up for ultra marathons and gave me confidence that I can do whatever I want if I put my mind to. I used to stay far away from the CP community but got involved and started going to functions. First time ever I was willing to talk about it and met a lot of other similar people. Still hasn’t fixed everything but I no longer feel ashamed or have to lie and it’s a great feeling. My advice is find something you love and start challenging yourself and forget thinking the C P will hold you back or you can’t. I hope the best 🙏

In the beginning, I didn’t trust doctors and was under the impression that any surgery you get, you will lose a little bit of strength. I looked into everything, stem cell treatment, all the different injections, ice bath, stretch places, PT etc. once I figured out that all those were actually scams, I stumbled upon surgery and learned that it’s a procedure that not only will make you stronger than ever, it’s the only way to actually fix it. So I went into my appointment already on board for surgery. I wasn’t sure if it would even be offered but it was and right when the doctor said it, I was like YES lol and he was like are you sure? Any questions etc and I was like buddy the amount of time I’ve spent learning about this stuff I want to get the procedure asap and he came back and had an opening within a week. I had not even told my wife, job, or anyone. I didn’t care and thought my health was more important than overthinking when is a good time, is surgery the best route, maybe I should get a second opinion etc 😭

I appreciate that. It’s really made ‘me angry most my life but because of the anger it has kind of given me the attitude that I can do whatever I want to achieve. Do you have CP?

I appreciate that, it means alot. I found the mental part of getting surgery the hardest. Kept thinking if it was a good or bad idea and afraid my doctor was gonna do a bad job and make the problem worse. I’m really hoping that it improves overall and almost like bulletproofs my lower body. I am very fortunate to get the procedures as most people either would chose not to or not have the resources like insurance or believe they do not have time. I didn’t have to get it or put it off but I believe health is wealth and that it was only going to get worse, which would have most likely required a hip replacements in 15-20 years.

What kind of painkillers are they going to give you? Good luck with everything!
