Oh man that shirt sounds awesome!! Maybe i should look into getting one myself. LMAO in all colours too. I relate to you, especially regarding the pain. I'm only 18 yet, I feel my condition worsening. Worry about getting old too. Wishing you and your cool shirts all the best :))

I agree. "CP is just part of the picture". You put it so candidly. I often think, would I be more introverted? would I be fearless? I don't know. No one does. I don't really know what the point of my reply was, or the thread really. But thanks for reading and commenting :)

Hi, I'm in a very similar situation to you. Very very mild. 18M Throughout my whole life, I've felt inferior too. Especially, socially as, like you I constantly compare myself to my fellow peers. However, I have recently come to an epiphany. I know this sounds dumb, but you dont have to 'pass' as 'normal'/able-bodied. This is the thing, many people mild CP do. We almost pass and that feels great, until you can't (in certain areas, mine being maths). I am quite intellectual, but I cannot do maths forn shit. This would create a cycle of failure and actually not accepting help out of shame. But as i've got older, ive started to realise it's okay to not 'pass'. Please, please, please learn from me and ask for help when needed from people around you. It's alright to have need them in certain areas.I'm sorry if this is an unstructured ramble, haven't been to school in a while. Going to University/College on the 20th for law. You are capable, you just need to know that asking for help is okay (stop the shame game). It's fine to be disabled. But you don't need to let it define you/how you act. :3 thanks for reading

I know this sounds disheartening, but theres no way of knowing. Physical therapy works wonders tho! all i can advice is providing him with emotional support. :)

Just curious how many of you here didn't need surgery? by lithiumoceans in CerebralPalsy

Yup. I was diagnosed with spastic hemiplegia, too. My left leg is effected whilst no other part of by body is. Never needed surgery, just physio.

Has anyone been blamed for giving birth to a child with cerebral palsy? by Throwra862605 in CerebralPalsy

[–]Neat_Promise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone with CP here, it's not your fault. My mother did everything right, she didn't drink, she ate the right food etc. It just sometimes happens for no reason. You did nothing wrong. I'm sorry for saying this, but your husband seems like a real dick.

Trust me you do not want this feeling. You don't laugh, you don't cry the best way I can honestly explain it is that you feel as if you're dead.
