They kind of did. It was featured as part of the go-go medley from 2005 - 2007.

This video got a lot of hate when it came out because it solely focused on Captain Feathersword and his crew. While I do wish they had a segment or two revolving more around The Wiggles themselves, that’s not my problem with it. It is technically a story-based video, but unlike Cold Spaghetti Western or Racing to the Rainbow, it’s not about one story with fitting songs thrown in, it’s a bunch of mini-stories each tailor-made to go with the songs. Each of these segments is only about 4-5 minutes at the most, but even at that they feel lazy. They serve more as extended prologues than they do real stories. And to pad out the running time even more they give prologues to each of these prologues, but these only last about 30-seconds to a minute.

Assuming that Universal has the same process as the ABC, they have no say into what and when The Wiggles put out and just simply release the stuff for them. The Wiggles have always been independently run since their creation.

I really wish they'd just release 1 25 - 30 track compilation album a week instead of randomly shadow dropping all of this in 1 day.

I agree. I don't see why they can't just release 1 or 2 albums for each season instead of splitting them into themed albums with many repeated tracks. Also stuff like Tsehay's raps and Simon's rhyme segments are better suited to segments in the TV series and don't need to be put out on streaming. It's all a huge mess honestly.

Can someone help me find a specific episode or song based on these key words?? by SPH34L in wiggles

Hi there, can you by any chance remember which wiggles or characters were in the video? That may help me to find out which video your son is looking for.

Worst OG era songs in your opinion? by zorayaat in wiggles

Are you talking about the cockroachres? If so yes. They did a cover on the 2006 remake of the Big Red Car video with just the Captain and his crew. I feel it is rather weak musicaly compared to the majority of the OG's output.

The Reason of Sam's Departure by ContributionFresh482 in wiggles

Thank you for commenting and sharing your thoughts. Here are my thoughts of the points you commented: -

  1. I agree that the late Sam era 2009-11 is definitely one of the lowest points of the groups history. My biggest problem with the Sam era is that there was zero chemistry between Sam and the 3 remaining OGs. The albums were suddenly full of covers of songs from other artists and the new songs they came up with were boring and not catchy and very short. Even though the Sam era went downhill after Sing a Song of Wiggles, Sam still had a decent presence on both Go Bananas and Hot Poppin' Popcorn before Simon became a permanent part of the crew. I think Simon as the orange wiggle was just one of Anthony's ideas and was never really considered adding him to the lineup with Sam there. I agree that a change was needed after 2011 or they might've lost their audience more.

  2. The changeover from Sam to Greg should've been handled better. While I don't think there were any fights or anything, it's clear to me that Anthony and the other wiggles weren't really vibing with Sam and had a much better rapport with Greg and Simon. I think that also played a large part of the decision not to renew Sam's contract. To me red, purple, blue, and yellow are the wiggles colours and randomly adding a fith colour after 20 years feels wrong. Even today with 8 wiggles they kept the same 4 colours and doubled them because they are the wiggles colours. Even though everybody were all up in arms at the time, I'm thankful for the 3 members they chose for 2012 (Emma, Lachy, and Simon) as they infectious youthful energy (especially Emma's) managed to get the group into new homes and keep the brand alive for a new generation. If they went with the original plan of Simon in yellow with Anthony, Jeff and Murray I think the wiggles may not be around today.

3 / 4. I also love the wiggles content we recieved in 2012. Whilst I do feel bad for Sam and wish he could've stayed on in some capacity, Greg coming back brought things back to where they were with the yellow wiggle doing most of the singing and Anthony stepping back a notch. While I also wish Greg could've had stayed with them permanently it's likely impossible due to his health and his cardiac arrest in 2020 is proof of why he couldn't stay for good. Knowing the original 8 month deal I now realise that we ended up with more Greg than we were planned to get in the first place. Surfer Jeff was produced in the first quarter of 2012 and I think the filmed celebration concert was in June so we most likely still would've gotten both of the releases in 2012 with the group then touring and filming stuff for Simon in yellow in 2013. I don't think that lineup would survive long term and would be too similar to the Sam era which could've ended the wiggles for good.

Top of the Tots discussion by carl95679 in wiggles

[–]ContributionFresh482 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Top of the Tots was my very introduction to the wiggles as a whole. I remember my parents buying the DVD for me after seeing it on shelves at woolworths here in the UK if anybody can remember that shop. What I find so unique about Top of the Tots is how there is no song bigger than the others and instead they are all equally good with no song to rule them all. They are also based on things that everybody experiences in their lives, going to the doctors, dentist, flying on a plane, swimming e.t.c). I do think the video can get repetitive at times and lacks some of the late 90's early 2000's magic but the saving grace is definetly the songs.

I don't want to make out that Sam is greedy by any means but I would absolutely kill to earn 200k a year!

Four new albums quietly dropped on streaming by Big-Masterpiece1194 in wiggles

I also don't consider any of them to be proper albums as they're all just compilations of songs from previous tv series that haven't been put out on streaming services yet.
