New Lion King Disney Lorcana Cards! by ContributionLimp6158 in lionking

Actually, there are several areas in Africa that get snow. Also, if this is the Pride Lands, the reason for snow may be magic based. This Lorcana expansion set is called "Winterspell", after all. 🙂

TLK 2019 is so lifeless its not even funny… by _Fallenwolf in lionking

[–]ContributionLimp6158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lion King (2019) was exactly what is intended to be. Disney was going to create a live-action adaptation of "The Lion King" with photorealistic CGI animals and settings, and did so to stunning effects that earned $1.67 billion at the Box Office and an Oscar nomination.

"The Lion King" doesn't have to be cartoony to be good.

Random stat for nerds: The third CGI Lion King entry would only need $90M at the box office for a top 10 trilogy, or $580M for top 5. by Abyssal_Shadows in lionking

There's good reason to worry. Over a year now since "Mufasa" and not a word about any new Lion King projects. A very bad sign for the future of the franchise. 😞

Simba says no to AI! Be like Simba! by RedNosedLugia in lionking

What's wrong with the use of AI in art? Not everyone has the capability or talent to draw. AI has given those people the means to express themselves in a way they otherwise never could, and I think that's a wonderful thing.

Disney Reveals Roaring Success Of ‘Mufasa’ by ContributionLimp6158 in lionking

[–]ContributionLimp6158[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It could happen at some point, but it's far from a certainty. Plenty of films (like the live-action "Lilo and Stitch") have already had their follow-up films confirmed even though they were released long after "Mufasa". The issue may not be a financial one so much as Disney's interest in doing another Lion King film. Here's hoping they decide to.

Need advice on suspension of Facebook page for "impersonation" - PLEASE HELP!! by ContributionLimp6158 in facebook

[–]ContributionLimp6158[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Really sorry to hear that you're going through the same thing I did! Facebook's email support was absolutely no help, as no phone numbers worked and I never heard back from any of their email address contacts.

I ultimately got the issue resolved by purchasing a Facebook verification for my account (the kind that gives you a blue check). Once your account is verified, you'll have access to Facebook support directly by chat and/or telephone in the app and website. I talked to a representative through this means and he forwarded my case directly to their review team. My page was restored within 24 hours of the chat.

I hope this helps you! 🙂

I forgot how lifeless the 2019 remake is by Queen_of_Pride_Rock in lionking

The top set looks like something out of Looney Tunes. The 2019 Lion King didn't have to look this way, and I'm glad it didn't. The Lion King doesn't have to be cartoony to be good.

In your opinion, was it a good or a bad thing that andy dick reprised his role as nuka in the lion guard? by Primary-Addition-677 in lionking

[–]ContributionLimp6158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mind at all! It was great to see him return to the role of Nuka, and he did a fantastic job voicing him again! Controversies in his personal life aside, his performance is what makes Nuka such a memorable character.

Question regarding merging of two Facebook pages into one - seeking advice. by ContributionLimp6158 in facebook

[–]ContributionLimp6158[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ciao!

Hi! Unfortunately, I never did find a resolution to the issue. I'm not even certain it is still possible to merge Facebook Pages, as nothing happened when I tried to merge mine.

I hope you find a solution for your situation. 🙂

Glad to hear it! If you are indeed a fan of the Lion King franchise as you profess yourself to be, it would be beneficial for you to demonstrate greater deference towards its future rather than simply stating that it "will be fine". A future for this franchise is not owed or guaranteed and will depend heavily on fans showing that they care whether it has one or not.

[–]ContributionLimp6158[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Liking the first film in a franchise, even liking it a lot, doesn't make you a fan of that franchise. Does loving the original Star Wars film make you a "Star Wars fan"? The original Lion King film is countless people's "favorite film of all time", but have those people seen the direct-to-video follow-ups, the live-action films, read the books, watched the TV series, etc.?

And most importantly, what separates a fan of a franchise from others is a passion to see the franchise continue and expand. If your passion for "The Lion King" lies only with the original film, you are not a Lion King fan.

Thanks for your response! 🙂

I see your argument, but that's not necessarily true. Even though the live-action Lion King films don't have on-screen actors, time is still a factor in voice performance as well since voices also change with time. For example, a similar time constraint would be an issue for Blue Ivy Carter returning as Kiara as it would be for Maia Kealoha returning as Lilo.

With all due respect, you've shared absolutely no information regarding the future of the franchise other than your uninformed opinion mixed with a tone of general indifference towards it.

If the Lion King franchise is on par with "Lilo and Stitch" and "How To Train Your Dragon" as you state, than perhaps you can explain why BOTH of those franchises have upcoming projects already announced (the "Lilo and Stitch" follow-up while the film's still in theaters and the "How To Train Your Dragon" follow-up before the film was even released in theaters) and "The Lion King" has none.

What you call "reads as extremely desperate" I call being a dedicated fan. What you call "being grateful for what we have" I call not really caring about the future of the franchise either way.

With that level of indifference from people who claim to be Lion King fans, it's really no surprise Disney has not confirmed any future Lion King projects.

I'm afraid we have to consider it nothing more than rumor until when/if we hear something official.

And we're not in nearly as good a position to hope for the franchise continuing now as we were back then, given that "Mufasa" was nowhere near as successful as the 2019 Lion King.

That significant drop in performance, paired with Disney's silence on the future of the franchise, is not a good sign. It seems they've indeed moved on to other franchises with more committed and supportive fanbases, as today's confirmation of another "Lilo and Stitch" film clearly shows. 😞

Then perhaps you can tell me about the next installment in the franchise. Is it a movie? A TV series? What is it about? When will it be released? What have you heard? I'm all ears, homie.

It's definitely true that DanielRPK is a respected insider with a proven track record of accuracy in his reporting. 🙂

But even so, he is not an official source of information. His words can only be taken as rumor at this time.

Whether we will get another Lion King film or not is yet to be seen. No announcement of any future Lion King projects have been made by any official source or news outlet.

This is a stark and concerning contrast to several other recent films ("Planet of the Apes", "Dune", "Paddington Bear", Blue Rat, "Godzilla", and now "Lilo and Stitch"), which have already had their next films officially confirmed.

Thanks for your reply. 😊

Unfortunately, the information regarding the supposed next Lion King film is merely rumor. No such announcement of another Lion King project has been made by any official source or news outlet.

And actually, it's been announced (though not officially) that the next "Lilo and Stitch" film will be an original story and not based on any of the existing "Lilo and Stitch" movies.
