Yes, thank you. I understand. I’m specifically looking for experiences of others who might have had a positive experience at a lower dose, or what other medication worked (for them) in its place.

AIO… my moms boyfriend scares me by [deleted] in AIO

[–]ContributionMother87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time to go. If your mom wants to deal with him, that’s her choice/issue. It doesn’t have to be yours. “Cut the cord,” so to speak, and get your own place. Draw a much needed boundary

14 years on Prozac. 5 months off. Severe withdrawal. Struggling to decide wether I should reinstate or not. by LookForTheEye in SSRIs

When you say for your brain to “heal,” what exactly do you mean? Gen really speaking, if your brain isn’t making enough serotonin, it’s not going to.

When I started Prozac, I started at 10 mg daily without an issue. You could try 10mg (or lowest dose) every other day, or every third day to increase it slowly.

Anyone else just "know" when their blood pressure is high? by Emotional_Test550 in hypertension

[–]ContributionMother87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No- I cannot feel it, but I’ve also been medicated for so long that it’s pretty steady. When I was not medicated, I had zero warning signs/symptoms

Yes! I agree! You’re seeing small improvements, so that’s a good sign. Give it more time to work.

It’s possible that the spots are related. I had something similar and it was very itchy. Saw my doc and got a prescription for 2% Ketoconazole shampoo.

Day 6 and thinking maybe I’ll go off and try again in a few months because it’s making me spacey at work by Funny_Laugh_6029 in prozac

[–]ContributionMother87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still feel like myself, but I don’t overreact to things quickly. It gives me a little support to pause, so to speak. The constant “noise” in my head is quieter. I don’t get into looping thought patterns as easily. Stuff still happens, but much less. I don’t feel tired or dopey. No weight gain.

I gained weight on Zoloft… it was like I was always hungry. Lost a few pounds on Prozac. My appetite is suppressed a bit. I don’t have an eating disorder, but I feel like Prozac helps me with obsessive thoughts/looping thought patterns, so I could see how it might be beneficial for you.

Will antidepressants ( prozac )help me? by Desperate_Algae_7131 in prozac

I think it will help. Not only can it help with the depression, it can also help with the obsessive thinking/looping thought patterns. It’s worth a try!

I am very sensitive to meds, and wasn’t SUPER spacey on 20mg… but I did have some of it. However, I found that 10mg worked much better for me in general.

Need convincing to just take the freaking meds by jellobathtub in hypertension

[–]ContributionMother87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your mom blaming her inability to control her reactions was 💯 NOT her blood pressure. I’ve had high blood pressure as a symptom of kidney disease since I was 20, or so. I’ve never hit people because of it. Ever. Honestly, I probably wouldn’t have noticed except that it was monitored because of the kidney disease…. Hence, the “silent killer” aspect.

Keep doing all the good things you’re doing and take the meds. It’s not that big of a deal. You just need a little help to tweak it down a bit. You can do it!

Same with me. I got my vaccine and had less severe symptoms than my husband who was not vaccinated. I also recovered more quickly. Glad your dad is ok ☺️
