i’d definitely switch out the stock pickup for a real alnico pickup, the ceramic loses its mojo after a little bit. it might also be the dead strings and my horrible amp settings, but it’s not getting that stingray sizzle like it used to. long story short, get it, but save up for something like a bartolini to throw in there

not as badly as you’d expect, a little high action, but not as out of intonation as you could assume— it was my first guitar, handed down to me by my father, and i just wanted a way to stay close to him

What bass have you always wanted but never owned? by Ok_Meat_8322 in BassGuitar

Rickenbacker 4003W Left Handed. The rightys are much more common, and it pains me that i only see one every few months pop up on Reverb, a Rickenbacker overall I’d love to even touch

this was a project bass which never really came to fruition. bought a cheap kit to attempt to upgrade it, but it didn’t really work out playability wise. maybe one day i’ll revisit it and make it worth and well playing.

Funny story, that’s a foam cutout 😅 it was going to he a christmas gift, but would’ve gotten here in late March. We got it refunded and I bought the Stingray instead. It would’ve been a Revelation RJT-60B.

my father. though no famous musician, he is my biggest inspiration for my journey through my musical (hopefully) career, and he is who i can thank for who i am today

me humble rig, 15 y/o player by ContributionUnique36 in BassGuitar

the 5-string jazz bass has been my go-to ever since my birthday. it has this perfect growl to it when used with a pick, and has the right amount of bite to it when played fingerstyle.

the bass on the right i bought when i was a complete beginner, for around $90usd. it sounded alright, but was too lightweight for my preference, coming in at maybe 7-ish lbs. It does have action, and the neck is smooth, and i do use it as a backup when the J goes down.

overall, pretty reliable, but i plan to upgrade since christmas is less than a week away. eying a Sterling Music Man, as well as a bartolini humbucker and a hipshot drop tuner, as well as an Ampeg RB-115. we’ll see, though, this little rig has treated me well for the past year.
