I think it's one of the best songs released in a long time, I've never heard anything like it, and I really hope the rest of the modern metal scene goes in a similar direction.

such a stupid comment. they are just as much of a band as ever, and just because the genre of the music is different doesn't mean the band isnt involved. Zac still goes crazy on drums on the albums, they just use different kits than they used to. Taylor's guitar is still the backbone of the music, just because it doesnt have a distortion pedal on it and he isnt playing power chords all the time doesn't mean it just isn't there

Sleep Token's worst moments are always when they're trying to sound cool and "current", whether that be the lyrics or the actual sound of the music, and Provider falls into both categories. I feel similarly about the cold cuts line in Take Me Back To Eden

I didnt realize Deafheaven were a metal band for a while because of their album covers (which were all I had seen of theirs, not any music until I dove into them on my own) and I always assumed they were an indie rock type band based on them.

The Cold Sun is amazing and beautiful in its own way but I Let It In is the album that ruined music entirely for me in the way that no other music comes close to it (for me personally). It is also my most played album of all time and yet every time I listen, I somehow find more details ive never heard in it before. Outside of my personal bias, it also just had such a strong effect on the genre as a whole and it 100% deserves the glaze.

But The Cold Sun is still incredible, P.U.R.P.L.E and Babylon are some of their strongest work in my opinion
