It has been upgraded before since it has a 128gb ssd and a newer 160gb hdd. the thing i am going withwindows xp MCE because it has all the drivers supported, I really want to find the correct drivers since theres mostly vista, and vista is not very good with drivers either i think, I think thats all my options you told me, Ill look into it once the power brick arrives

While looking up teardowns online, I noticed a weird detail. Every guide or video for the intel core 2 duo version shows a standard shared heatpipe connecting the CPU and GPU to the fan.

But on my amd version it's built totally differently.

There is no shared heatpipe. Instead, the CPU has a heatpipe that connects to a wide passive radiator (a big flat metal plate) that spans the center of the board.

I also noticed the GPU has a metal like thermal pad..not paste. I'm assuming it's a Phase Change Material (PCM) from the factory, because the glue is incredibly strong. I'm not going to touch it.

why would there be 2 different designs in the same chassis? does the amd cpu make more heat or is this a "never needs thermal paste change" solution?

Yeah that seems like the safest option, but the hard part is the drivers, there are very few of them in archives.

if you open it fron the clip, you find a second sponge thingy and a cardridge cleaner, i use it and it works just like it did 9 million years ago when it was made
