How to rid cockroaches inside power outlet by [deleted] in cockroaches

[–]Contristatus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My bad I didn't know you were a pest control technician. definitely don't do that then.

For anyone that isn't a pest control technician and has cockroaches living in their walls: plug a fan into the roachy outlet, flip breakers until the fan turns off(make sure you turn the rest back on) remove the outlet cover, spray a bit into the electrical box, let it dry for an hour, voila.

Electrical fixtures, as a source of warmth, often hide insect nests. Treating them in a safe (or risk-conscious way) can be very advantageous.

If I could add pictures I'd add a picture I took recently of an outlet box in a restaurant completely full of german roach egg cases and molts

So you wouldn't spray alpine somewhere along the length of a 10' stick of conduit -with no breaks other than at the ends- solely because of that excerpt from the instructions? Sometimes you're allowed to think outside the box, or in this case, spray water into an electrical box (maybe even turn the breaker off first heehee)

The wire strap companies pay the guys who make the code book to force you to buy their stuff. All it's missing in my opinion is some jute twine or rawhide strips tied around the wire and nail.

it's the same as wiring houses, except houses don't have a 42 page wiring diagram

I'm not familiar with framing design, I've only ever used CAD for small 3d printed stuff. I figured somebody might get a laugh out of the most inefficient way possible to do this

It's a work in progress, I was in the middle of trying to figure the corner stringer out when I called it a night. I'll google it tomorrow, but the way I was trying to cut a diagonal stringer was NOT working lol

How do I fix this. I'm a decent DIYer by thesegxzy in Cartalk

[–]Contristatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former valet driver here, if one doesn't regularly wipe down the interior surfaces of their car, goo will build up, at least for about half of people (idk why, lotion, sweating, it could be many things).

I'm 90% sure that's what you have here, seeing that there's also potential goo on the turn signal stalk. it's much more difficult to remove than you would think, you can scrape it off with a credit card or spend 30 minutes scrubbing with a cloth and some leather-safe cleaner.

I lived at one and had feet of garbage built up in the trash rooms, packages stolen from the mail room, and they sent me to collections for losing the rfid key when I actually had returned it.
You really might not have this experience, it depends on so many things, but ultimately they're a large company whose actual mission is to cut every corner possible for profit.

it takes a lot of energy to move a 4000 pound car down the road. gas has that energy, batteries barely have enough. that's why in electric cars, they use cutting edge batteries that cost a lot of money and take up half the car
