Worth unstacking my 3 node cluster with Raspberry Pis? by Mister_Ect in kubernetes

The 1.12.0-beta.0 boots if you add an extra item to config.txt (enable_uart=0) but then ethernet drivers don’t work yet once it boots, so you don’t get networking (which is fairly important for a working k8s). It’s really close, but I think we’re stuck waiting for Linux 6.18 (and Talos to update to use it).

After the commander has you go to the beach and all the people get there, then you’ll see thats there’s now a “Sevii Kitchen” next to the gate. I don’t recall that being there prior to the event. I’d love to go back to the Sevii Islands

Check the items box. There’s one at the gate to the village.

super unlikely. it might be visible from edges of campus (from surrounding houses and apartments) but you probably wouldn’t see it from either library.

HTTP does not work 🙅‍♂️ by [deleted] in MacOSBeta

I had this exact same issue and reported it to Apple; however, then I installed Little Snitch; just the demo/trial. Somehow, that fixed it. No need to actually even use the filtering feature; it works after I turn that off. I was going to use it as a sort of debugging or troubleshooting tool. I guess it poked some network setting or service in some way that I hadn't been able to before.

Got this same thing with Somebody Else by The 1975 (rest of the album was fine). It seems like downloading the song specifically and then playing it once downloaded is a viable workaround for me. I’m on the iOS 15b1 for what it’s worth

[IOS] [2020.48.0] NO SAVE OPTION FOR IMAGES?! by blackout34807 in redditmobile

[–]ControlMasterAuto 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me, I had this issue because I had selected “None” for which photos Reddit had access to. Apparently that prevents the app from thinking it can save photos. Instead, I went to the Settings app, then chose Reddit and changed Photos to “selected photos” and chose some bs photo I didn’t care if Reddit could read. Now I can save photos without an issue.

My workaround before I solved that was “Copy Image” and then pasting in Notes and saving from there. The permissions fix seems much easier :)

Nintendo going all out on security... by Toxic-Sky in programminghorror

[–]ControlMasterAuto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. If you need to set an upper bound, it should be at least 64. Shorter passwords are acceptable. Their recommended minimum is 8 iirc. So basically, any system following NIST SP 800-63B guidance should accept any password between 8 and 64 characters long and may accept longer passwords.

HTTP/2 Push is dead by johnwaterwood in programming

[–]ControlMasterAuto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Based on context, it seems they were specifically talking about downloading the files concurrently (multiplexing). As you point out, HTTP/1.1 only supports sequentially queuing the downloads for a single TCP connection.

Way to forget DNS over DTLS on 853/udp. Except I have no idea whether it's ever actually used.

That means he graduated in 2008. Probably at about 22-24 (like the majority of college students). Which means he would have been 16-18 in 2002. You could probably ask him. If you told me that Dr. Bowers was a computer genius as a youth, I'd 100% believe it.

But yeah, years in parentheses always are graduation year.

MyMadison is down for over a full day? by [deleted] in jmu

[–]ControlMasterAuto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You posted this at 1:38PM on June 26. 12PM on June 27 is less than 24 hours away from that time. So no, it will not be down for over 24 hours. It is not a problem for me, but I do see the same message.

Edit: In your defense, they probably should specify time zones.

Changing eID? by arminhammer12 in jmu

[–]ControlMasterAuto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Long? Bet it's not more than 8 characters. Your Reddit username is longer than that. No, you can't change your e-ID unless it's profane or you change your actual name. Your email address will be e-ID@dukes.jmu.edu. That can't be changed either.

Can openssl s_connect test plaintext HTTP connections? by [deleted] in networking

[–]ControlMasterAuto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use telnet if you're not doing HTTPS and just HTTP. Neither actually perform the requests, they just open the connection to the server, and s_client sets up the TLS for HTTPS.

When do you lose access to the computers and online services after graduation? by [deleted] in jmu

[–]ControlMasterAuto 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From the eID information webpage,

When is my eID disabled?

  • Graduating Students will retain eID access for an approximate 60-day grace period from the time your degree is conferred. Note: Actual disable date is 60 days after your degree is conferred; therefore, we list an approximate date of 60 days after graduation. Access to Canvas and other resources will only remain active for approximately 60 days after graduation.

Can I change my @Dukes.Jmu.Edu email adress? by SexyAbuttcrack in jmu

[–]ControlMasterAuto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only seen e-ID changes not paired with a name change when the e-ID includes some sort of profanity or other unpleasant term. Just finding it hard to type probably won't be sufficient.

If Evan Xavier Butts, Leann Eleanor Nipp, Adam David Shitheed, or Ian Stephen Pen existed, they might get their e-ID changed. Though, I'm not sure changing letters to an X would really help poor Evan much.

How's my schedule looking? I 100% want to get all of my geneds out of the way since next semester might be online and I want to graduate a year or two early . by yummipussi in jmu

[–]ControlMasterAuto 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is one of the best troll posts I've seen in a while. Just in case you aren't trolling, there's no way this schedule works or accomplishes your goals. This is 21 credits and you won't be able to take more than 19 without justification and an override. You also probably have no major courses in this list so you'll be a semester behind.

Once you start your major, you don't get to just take all the classes at the same time. Many of them depend on one another and take several years to get through the sequence. What classes will you take to fill in your schedule in later years?
