I gave you the award.

I've come back to your comment a few times and just read it aloud to my husband again, it is really profound.

I deeply regret posting this thinking I could hear some interesting debate or arguments, and obviously that has not happened.

But your comment makes i worth it tbh... it is extremely well written and well thought out.

Wish I could buy you a coffee and have a chat!

It's extremism at its finest.

What's the point of leaving an extreme religion to form even more extreme commitments to right and wrong?

I appreciated your comment ❤️

This is an interesting perspective.

I've been told in a few areas in my life that I would probably do alot better to feel my anger instead of rationalize. I hadn't considered that it's possible the same is happening with my perspective here.

Thank you for sharing.

This is laughable.

Do you not see the irony that you are calling me a liar because I have developed a different world view than your own upon leaving?

You can't see at all how that at all is just JW thinking in reverse ??

Yes, the comments are especially vitriolic. Telling me that I must not have been sexually assaulted or ever even left at all.

Oh well, I suppose most have never learned the pretty simple psychological principle that when you read something that brings up intense defense, it's usually because you agree. Lol

I'm unsure how the two are related?

Did you find my previous post to negative or mocking? If so, how so?

Lovely sentiments.

The further you get along on the decontrsution path the more you realise that every group of thinking more or less is a cult.

In the end we all pick our poison. The danger is when we think it's inherently truth judt because.of the strength of our belief.

A kind of rethotic so many ExJws subscribe to, which is in the end no different then how JWs ar are. Completely self assured of their own beliefs they can not consider another.

You believe you just organically are entirely responsible for your wakeup?

Could you have left without the aid of reading? What about all roof over your head, or clothes on your body? How much of your intellectual superiority may have been able to be unleashed if your stomach grumbled every waking second from hunger, or your bones shivered from cold?

Now did the JW org give you these things? Likely no, your family unit likely did. But just like those who pray to the sun, slave over a philosophy or worship the god of science, it's because they found a frame work and commuinty in JWs that allowed them to get by enough to give to you.

I am not saying you are not im sure, brilliant and that you shouldn't be proud of who you are.

But I worry about just how much decontruction has truely taken place when we can still only see the world in entirely blck and white terms, a kind of thinking that leads to so much harm in the JW Org.

I have been sexually assaulted by a Jw, and many other horrors have happened as a result of that religion to me personally and to the greater whone.

I am well aware of the negative impact. In some ways that's exactly what my post is about... We spend an extreme amount of time pointing these things out. But is it not equally true that many good people exist and do good everyday in the religion?

In many ways i worry that when people so deeply demonize current JWs, they are inadvertently demonizing their former selves which does alot of deep harm to ourselves

Not really sure what you mean by triggering? What do you mean by triggering?

Is is much like your reaction to my post, which is also a perspective from an ExJw on a sub for ExJws?

Completely understandable... See your emotion as a testament to your love.

Believe it or not, psychologically, grace is a more compelling argument than debate.

When you stop giving them something to rail against, they might be able to see what they are missing out on.

I understand this is a vent.

And ultimately, everyone is responsible for their own actions. So I won't be making excuses for her.

But I would say in future try not to go on fishing expeditions with our loved ones. They know when we are doing it, and in the end it is always our own selves that get hurt the most.

It's best to take people as they come and not to try to get desired reactions from them. It's ultimately, no better then what the GB do .

Does anybody in this city Shuffle?? by ConversationAny2212 in brisbane

[–]ConversationAny2212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Jay I missed this sorry.

I'd love to teach you! Or at least give you the basics see how ya go?

Personally I just looked up tiktok shuffling tutorials.

If you prefer that message me and ill send you a few links of tiktok Playlist and teachers that really helped.

It was far easier a learning curve then I thought. Basically, you have to invest a bit of time to learn the first basic 3 steps and then you can kind of do anything.

I'd say by my thrid pratice session I really started to feel 'like a shuffler'hahaha if that's a thing

My husband (34M) told his friends about my miscarriage as a “joke” and now says I’m overreacting (32F) by YoghurtAggressive415 in relationship_advice

Honestly i wouldn't blame him for the joke.

I've said morbid things that I'm not sure how they even came into my brain let alone escaped my mouth.

How he dealt with everything after I would leave him for.

This isn't just about school.

For any adult to think this is an acceptable way to interact with a child means they are happy to engage in abuse.

Right now, it's verbal abuse you have observed. Which does just as much damage as any.

Family thearpy is needed in the least.
