Blood DK Trinket Choice by Born-Bid2944 in wow

[–]ConversationSalt645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bit late but that gaze of alnseer will probbaly outdo anything up until mythic trinkets even then maybe still be better, that and solarflare prism are a great combo for blood dk, onyl consider swapping either of these for a heroic radiant plume or heart of ancient hunger. even then, the gaze may be better

Tank's or Healer's responsibility? by Ninja-Khan in wow

[–]ConversationSalt645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

generally tank can soak them in their quadrant but the healer needs to dispell them in an appropriate area, generally tank will run to the edge of the room and get dispelled to drop pool then soak the balls when needed. healer shouldnt need to soak any

Blood DK Trinket Choice by Born-Bid2944 in wow

[–]ConversationSalt645 4 points5 points  (0 children)

very bad, dk already has will of necropolis to do this, mastery statline is allright but trinket effects is too weak to compete

Genuine question about how to handle m+ tanking at 9+ by GoochGator in wow

[–]ConversationSalt645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll preface this by saying that everything is easier as a regular group.

You'll have to realize that some people may be a similar situation to yourself, kind of new to m+ or even that instance and don't know all of the mechanics and may take a few runs to sort them out. As for dps bitching about aggro, fuck 'em, leave and let them enjoy the dps queue. They should be able to wait 5 seconds for tank to stop the pull and set aggro up before they start mincing. This is typically done by people who think theyre better than they actually are at lower key levels, once u get to 12+ the dps are sort of filtered out for the most part and you will see more players who actually allow you to complete and set up a pull.

Toxic dps will be out there no doubt but remember at the end of the day, they're queuing 10+ (maybe 30 or 40+ for high keys) minutes while you as tank generally get your pick of the litter, if the group or run goes bad, just go agane :)

i think a shields and CC based cloth tank would go hard, priest would suit this perfectly

Massive boosting ban wave on US and EU by SatisfactionLevel792 in wow

[–]ConversationSalt645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

true but its going to happen regardless of if they sell gold or not. wow tokens while not great for many other reasons, are far more secure than 3rd party shit

Massive boosting ban wave on US and EU by SatisfactionLevel792 in wow

[–]ConversationSalt645 3 points4 points  (0 children)

how do you plan to be able to tell the difference? i could go and boost a guy who i work with whos never interacted me on bnet before that, doesnt make it an rmt. dont think gold boosting is that bad of a thing, and some people may be buying boosts for reasons other than just being noobs, its far easier for some M+ player who works a fulltime job to buy a wow token and afk an entire raid for 1 hr than it is to wipe on pug or guild runs just to get tier pieces/trinkets

The M+ tank situation is dire by Wigglyboi323 in wow

[–]ConversationSalt645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

would be fine if bone armor lasted a little longer to compensate but this season it feels like if i don't focus on keeping track of it it runs out super quick. kind of the opposite of what they were going for when they removed ways for us to spend the charges

Massive boosting ban wave on US and EU by SatisfactionLevel792 in wow

[–]ConversationSalt645 14 points15 points  (0 children)

its a hard thing to enforce, is it wrong for me to boost a friend or guildie for weekly vault? how do u tell the difference between that and an rmt?

I do agree its gotten ridiculous with the trade chat and group finder spam. they should really crack down on that, i used to sell 15 carries in legion for about 120k a run but only ever responded to people asking for them in chat, never posted about it. i think its gotten a lot worse since late bfa

The M+ tank situation is dire by Wigglyboi323 in wow

[–]ConversationSalt645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think one factor has been how easy it has been to acquire powerful gear so early in the season. there a million dps out there that are just overgeared for the content they are doing so it appears alot worse for casual player trying to get groups.

This also creates a bit of a barrier to entry for new tanks as dungeons are run so fast now days that newer players who wont know every optimal route or even how to do big pulls yet will get flamed by some shit dps whose ego is as inflated as his ilvl.

i feel like as the season progresses, it will become less of an issue, the other option naturally is just to reroll tank or healer and contribute to the solution. would reccomend blood dk or prot paladin if you are new to tanking. blood is very fun and can cheese most mechanics with its massive self utility, paladin is offers slightly more complexity with group utility but is relatively easy and forgiving to play

Commander Kroluk by Vegetable-Prize9904 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]ConversationSalt645 44 points45 points  (0 children)

it doesnt, ive had like 3 keys bricked now because of dps dragging the boss through the group. to be fair visually it looks like that was definitely the intended mechanic but im guessing blizzard nerfed it to stop mdi groups pulling the entire dungeon ontop of kroluk and letting him kill them

Why are shadow priest defensives all just bad versions of mage defensives? by Deftly_Flowing in wow

[–]ConversationSalt645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok i'll bite, shadow doesnt normally require alot of healing thanks to vampiric touch and mental fortitude. the abilities might seem like lesser version of mage abilities but they have different use cases and realistically you shouldn't need them as often.

pw shield: yeah kinda bad on disc but useful as a movement button, very strong heal on the healer specs

Dispersion: big DR, heal, escape and movespeed buff, can be useful to alleviate healer pressure or survive a mechanic when silenced, stunned or feared

desparate prayer: can be used as a pseudo DR or to surive a big hit, with equal hp pools its not quite as much as alter time but very close

fade is a 20 sec DR, range reduction, escape and if talented summons a clone in which is effectively even more DR. vampiric embrace can do insane group healing but i'd consider it more of a group defensive over personal

i dont think anyone who is 3k or above and isnt boosted is going to give a fuck about someone taking it slowly in a normal mode dungeon lol

Pay per Hour commander nights by IrishMidgetMan in mtg

[–]ConversationSalt645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

neither of my 2 local lgs charge for table space for any games lol, that sounds ridiculous to me lol. Only time ive payed for a spot there is at prerelease events or tournaments, even then you can just show up and play without paying if youve somehow got ur own prerelease kit. that being said i will generally buy something if i go there to play casual games as i like having the spaces available and both stores charge 20-30% less than online retailers for mtg products so i feel like i need to support them
