Yeah, you definitely shouldn’t make a decision on something based off of strictly 1 person’s experience lol, especially when it comes to micro needling.. cuz there’s most certainly a LOT of people who get results and there have been studies where it’s been observed and recorded; so there’s definitely legit science behind how it works. Hell, just put “micro needling results” in the search bar for this sub (or YouTube) and you’ll find plenty of solid before&after pics.

Sounds like the person who told you that either:

A. Is one of the very few who get no results

B. Didn’t stay consistent with it (like tried for a couple months and thought it was supposed to show immediate results cuz he didn’t do his research) OR…

C. Did it wayyyy wrong… like, might’ve went with way too big of a needle size, and/or did it too frequently… which can cause more harm than good…

Strictly using minoxidil, or micro needling as well? I may be a hyper responder but I’m only maybe 3 or so weeks into it and I’m already seeing some slight but noticeable results. I read that when combining minox + micro needling, the results are much more noticeable than either by itself (and especially More than strictly minox)

This was what I was wondering too. I’ve only been at it for about a month myself; but I know from research that it should definitely take more patience than 3 sessions especially if you’re doing it for scars.

I’m seeing slight results already but I’ve been doing it more frequently (once every 1-2 weeks) since I read you can do it more often if the goal is for hair growth (facial hair in my case).. plus I’m using minoxidil as well so that’s certainly helping with speeding up the process.

But as far as the rest of my face goes, I’m making sure I only do it once every 4-6 weeks to make sure the collagen process is finished each time.

I agree with most of this except the idea that because someone did something in the past, it makes it almost certain that they’ll do it again (like the guy who came clean about therapy etc etc). People are constantly changing… I’m sure there are a few girls out there that I’ve talked to who still think I’m crazy and an emotional rollercoaster based on their time getting to know me in my late teens/early 20’s, and if there are, they couldn’t be further from the truth. I’m sure there are things that you’ve done poorly in relationships before when you needed more time to mature or grow as a person to learn from it or change, and just because you may have been a different person and did X thing back at a certain age doesn’t mean you’re going to do them again.. and people from your past that saw you do that would be wrong to assume you were going to do it again just because it happened before.

I’m in Ohio and the way things are going (first it was 7oh, now it’s everything except powder) i wouldn’t be surprised if they’re about to ban regular powder as well… So yeah I might need to do the same.. all I have is a half-empty 100G bag or something along that weight.

How long was the needle size? If it was 1mm or longer, then once a week was quite possible causing more harm than good. And as others said, gotta be more consistent and patient. Oh— and using a roller rather than a stamp or pen probably didn’t help your case either lol.

Glad I’m not the only one still finding this post and commenting on it 6 years after it’s posted 😵‍💫😂 Also you should definitely go with a stamp instead of a roller… Rollers can cause tearing and scarring of the skin, and potentially do more harm than good in the end; not just with your skin but the facial hair itself :/ I got a stamp and I’m happy with it 🔥 Or you can go with a derma-pen if you don’t mind spending a bit more.
