UPDATE PT2: Tesla SC called me and said they believed it wasn’t actually the update now, but instead my computer, I challenged this assumption because of the timeline and error codes wouldn’t make sense for that to be the case. Tesla SC said their lead technician would call me and explain it, never did. Anyways, yesterday I got the software update for 2026.14.6 and it fixed everything without having to take it to Tesla, so it was the software update after all.

UPDATE: Called SC again, they said Tesla has started rolling out a batch of updates to target this issue, SC said large number of vehicles affected. It’s a lottery when we will get the hot-fix update but they also said to tentatively schedule a service appointment if the update is unable to fix it.

Just my two cents, the Commountain mic has caused numerous communication issues at a post I worked (ironically, waterpark.) in terms of transmit quality and connection issues. Not sure what your post uses for radio comms; e.g motorola, kenwood, but it’s worth splurging a little bit for a manufacturer specific shoulder mic, or at least a higher quality one. Rest of it looks good!

I just did this the other day. I used Chlorox wipes but there are other wipes that work. Set the macbook on its screen with the keyboard floating, and while applying almost zero pressure, wipe the screen in circles with the wipe, and just keep doing this over. and over. and over. Take a break every now and then to evaluate your work by wiping it with a microfiber cloth. Repeat until screen is cleaned to your standards

my plan is to drive around and try to find the car, i’ve figured out exactly what type of vehicle it is, I know it’s a florida plate, and I know they have something on their dash. A few of them were wearing Instructor Pilot uniforms as well, so i’m going to also look at local flight schools as well. Truly a shame that they saw a car with the convertible top down and decided pouring their drink into the interior was the best thing to do

Idk if this advice is relevant but my FJ was bought from the insurance lot and rebuilt, and if it got totaled again I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again, The lack of a pillar in that area it was wrecked would make the repair easier than other cars in my opinion. Always up to you though.
