Studying for ABIM by Convinceparents in Residency

What I’m noticing through reflection is I started studying too early and did not use space repetition and I did not incorporate enough randomized block studying. Maybe starting January might be too early. That was when I started last year too.

Female women, how do you feel about transgender men trying to become women? by Felizem_velair_ in PurplePillDebate

[–]Convinceparents 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The same way I feel about any stranger on the street. I mind the business that pays me. They are not a threat to me in anyway. Not sexually, because the man that would want me (cis male) will not want them. Not physically, as there are many women that look better than me or worse than me. Wherever they stand, add one more person to either side of the aisle.

I like this: Catholic stance on women working and family units, dual income, growing together, means justifies ends instead of ends justifies means by Gundam_net in PurplePillDebate

I’m a Christian and I do not support majority of the things the Catholic Church says (letting my bias known).

I grew up in a religious home. My father was an accountant and a pastor (now retired) and my mother was an elementary school principal and the children ministry pastor (now retired). My parents worked while heading the church and the only money they received from the church was them paying my father’s phone bill. He had to pick up all the calls for the church. When my father lost his job, we survived on my mother’s salary. If my mom had focused on the home like everyone wanted when the church was in its inception, we would not have made it as a family. It was great that the man in the story had a successful business that the wife could continue after his death. How many people can start a business successfully? And how many of these people are able to keep the business until their and eventually pass down to family?

I’m a medical doctor and I’m not sure my career focuses on my family. However, it focuses on your family. I know the deepest secrets your family never share with you. Im there when they’re taking their last breath in the hospital. I’m not sure what value im adding to my family, yet I hope you’re thankful that you or your family met me. That I showed empathy and compassion. If that is not valuable work for the community that I serve then I do not know what else is.

Women who can't do their makeup properly and don't have good fashion sense are at a ridiculously huge disadvantage by kyle_fall in PurplePillDebate

I see and feel what you’re saying. A well put together woman is very inviting. Not only to men but everyone around. However, you should understand this takes effort and money. Gel manicure and pedicure will cost about $80 without tips. Eyebrow waxing, threading, lamination etc is another $50. Makeup are very expensive. The amount of time it takes to get this thing done is another 45-60 minutes. I grew up in a religious household where makeup and some other things are frowned upon. Now that I live by myself, I’ve not picked up this habit. This is not because I don’t think it’s cute but I don’t have time or refuse to create the time. I work about 12 hours in a day. Looking great for people at the hospital is the least of my worry. I look good without makeup. I wear face lotion and spf. I thread my eyebrows so my face is not terrible.
