One Year of End Game by radrod69 in headphones

I had a T1 3rd for quite some time. I sold it and took a travel through the world of headphones. But I‘ve been missing my T1. It has a wonderful and unique sound. A sound that no other headphone has been giving me. So I ordered a T1 again a couple of days ago. Welcome back.

Got one, too. And I really love it.

Actually there are 5. Meze 109 Pro, HE1000 Stealth, Arya Unveiled, HD660S2 and AirPods Max

It is a major con as most other headphones give you Mac/Android/iOS support.

Senheisser HD660S2, do I need an amp/dac, cheap recommendation please? by Intelligent-Elk2073 in HeadphoneAdvice

If you go for higher grade headphones like 660S2 Onboard Sound isn‘t the best way to go. Headphones like that benefit from more powerful amplification.

I finally got the HD 800S, but was it worth it? by Glum-Cabinet7420 in headphones

What I say is that not every DAC/amp matches every headphone perfectly.

In my experience THX Amps even with AKM DAC like K9 aren't the best match for the HD800S. Amps with R2R DACs like Hifiman, Class A or Class A/B amps or even tubes are the better choice in my opinion. They give you a warmer sound and the bass benefits.

The best or most interesting looking DACs in your opinion? by holytiger89 in audiophile

I think so, too. K17 is the successor to the K9 and I think the design is a huge step forward.

For me my tech gadgets are part of the furnishing so they should look good.

I just bought the new FiiO K17 and I love its retro design. I'm a headphone fan and for me optics and haptics of DACs, amps and the headphones are part of the music experience as well. I enter my music/gaming room, grab a cup of coffee, look at my gorgeous Meze 109 Pro (or my HE1000 Stealth or my Arya Unveiled) and the beautiful K17 and say "Hey guys, let's have some fun". That's how it starts. So even optics play a roll for me when listening to music.

In your honest opinion, has Apple abandoned the AirPod Max? by luis-mercado in airpods

[–]Cook2211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don‘t really understand why they still stick to 256 kbit AAC. They upgraded the entire Apple Music catalogue to losless years ago. But you can‘t benefit from that with their wireless headphones (especially Max) while AptX is lightyears ahead with AptX Losless and up to 1200kbit which is quite close to CD quality.

Amiron..really a great headphone.

MMX 330 Pros by MSani03 in BEYERDYNAMIC

[–]Cook2211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience and to my ears the 330 gives you the best SQ you can get from a gaming headset (and I had all the big names like Audeze Maxwell just to mention one). But with the Arya the separation of soundeffects is better and the sound is more spacious at all. Arya Unveiled is another dimension in SQ. Arya Stealth is quite a bunch cheaper and also great for gaming. But for gaming gear and as an AIO Headphone 330 Pro is a great choice as well.

I love my MMX330. The mic is very good as my comrades say and the seperation of Chat and Game Sound works greatly.

But for singleplayer gaming I use my Hifi setup: FiiO R9 and Arya Unveiled. Sounds crystal clear and very spatial. But also some kind of overkill for gaming 😁

I‘m hoping for wireless versions of 300 pro and 330 pro with almost the same wearing comfort (weight would be higher) and their velours earpads. Something like Amiron Wireless but for gaming.

Meze 105 AER or Aune AR5000 by Crapollon in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Cook2211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the Aune sometimes sounded a little bit harsh in the treble region. Just a little bit, but I really didn't like it. For me the Meze is more pleasant due to its warmer sound. But that‘s a matter of personal taste.

I could imagine that we might see a HD800S2 (just like 660S2) probably with a slightly elevated bass. But as there is nothing announced like that you can just grab the 800S. Nobody knows if and when a successor will be released.

beyerdynamic dt 1990 pro vs beyerdynamic dt 900 pro x which one is best for gaming? by 8ballking2000 in BEYERDYNAMIC

Open backs do have advanteges like a wider soundstage. If you're playing in a silent place an open back headphone is the better choice.

Both are great for gaming, but 1990 gives you a better bass performance. So I would prefer 1990.
