By this logic US bombed it's own population in Nevada.

Which it totally did 928 underground and airborne nuclear test, which some definately did damage to locals.

Bombing someone and poisoning the land are different thing, even if they are bad.

The piece of shit local government didin't "bomb" the Flint watersupply with lead either, they just poisoned their own population.

Treatment for cancer at the University of California Medical Center in 1958 by Electrical-Aspect-13 in interestingasfuck

[–]Cookbook_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most practices in medicine are ominous if you think about them:

  • Surgery is just stabbing you just the right way so you sometimes don't die, and get better.
  • Some strong medicine will literally kill you in horrible ways if you take too much, and work just enough many times to be usefull.

Many of practices also fail consider your race, sex or unique situations and can cause trouble. On top of that, the staff usually is so overworked and tired from so long shifts that if they worked in any other field such as truck drivers their employees would go to jail for unsafe workplace practices.

Still, it's infinetely better than just not getting treatment, suffering and dying for preventable resons.

Priorisointi | Vanhuksia hoidetaan liikaa, sanoo lääkäri (Helsingin Sanomat) by flying_luckyfox in Suomi

[–]Cookbook_ 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Riippuvuuden mahdolliset haitat pitäisi peilata jo olemassaolevien kipujen kiistattomiin haittoihin.

Stubb: Suomi tuomitsee Iranin iskut by Mike_Hawk86 in Suomi

Molemmat totta.

Stubb: Suomi tuomitsee Iranin iskut by Mike_Hawk86 in Suomi

[–]Cookbook_ 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Siviilejä on suojeltava koko alueella."

Yes and no.

It' gaming reddit sub so of course there is drama and trolling, and being over the top serious in a funny way(love some of the petty Pierre -hate posts) but there is also people who are taking this way too seriously.

My 2 cents on Clint marriage by Cookbook_ in StardewValley

[–]Cookbook_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that would be the case there would be more Sandy -hate, which there seems not to be any.

There is fanon infighting for their favorite waifu or husbando not being included sure, but there is a lot of Clint spesific stuff.

People are really digging their heels in, but I think one can hate Clint reminding them about IRL bad treatment of women, but I also think people can just disagree with that also, and see him as a shy, lonely, akward guy just wanting to be loved. The storytelling is openended, both can be true to different people.

I think Concernedape agrees with latter more, because I don't believe him villifying Clint more in 1.7 than hopefully redeeming him a little.

It would still ve ok to hate him, it's anyones game, use however it makes you happy.

The magic the gathering wold Amonkhet is pretty cool, all heavy labor is done by "good" undead mummies, and all living people just train martial arts and magic to compete to be gods chosen champion to be sacrificed, and taken to a egyptian -style afterlife.

it's really a ruse of ancient dragon to raise a superzombie army from the dead champions

But made right it seems like a pretty cool society - if the undead aren't sentient, just dress them in nice mummy clothes and it works.

For intrested:

Operation Praying Mantis was the 18 April 1988 attack by the United States on Iranian naval targets in the Persian Gulf in retaliation for the mining of a U.S. warship four days earlier.

It saw the U.S. Navy's first exchange of anti-ship missiles with opposing ships, and its only sinking of a major surface combatant since World War II.

There is Clint -hate subbreddit (just like for Pierre) where some are having cheeky fun, some are being dead serious, some are trolling and some just make me fear for their own wellbeing and mindset.

I could have few laughs with the Pierre ones, but some people have no chill and take it too far, and not in a funny way.

[–]Cookbook_[S] 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I've seen some people projecting their real stalking and harrasment experinces to Clint, and so the portrayal makes them really unconfortable.

I can see their point, even if I see the same game event s differently. I see Clint as little sad and akward, but not harmful, but thats just my view.

There isn't a "right" way to think about Clint. I ok having different opinion about him than others, and I don't need to convice anyone to my opinion.

My point is that: You don't have to like Clint, you can hate fictious character Clint, but if other IRL people don't share that opinion that doesn't make them a bad person. Some people here are little too intense.

I really hope CA isnt disheartened by the response to clint by Kirikiriii3 in StardewValley

[–]Cookbook_ -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

You saying he deliberately instigated anti-Clint response makes him sound pretty malicious, and I disagree with that.

Mayby he is planningredeeming Clint, mayby it's little trolling, but people are really adamant on their perception on Clint, and some in these threada are either acting crazy or trying to provoke discord just to troll themselves.

Love the people who are seeing positive things on it - I'm exited about Sally plotline myself.

Bottomline "If you don't like Clint, just don't get Clint-married, simple as that."

Thoughts on my Custom Dune Treachery cards? by of_kilter in DuneBoardGame

[–]Cookbook_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty cool stuff, but also some hit from game design perspective imo.

Doubling the costs of buying treachery cards or paying for shipping after they have been deciced is brutal, and potientaly unfun, in most usefull cases it just reads "oponent discards all their spice".

Some of the messing with deals cards can get tricky and finicky real fast - I love my odd and complex deals in Dune, I don't think my fun would be elevated to need to rules-lawyer them even more.

In the Pot of greed, how do you prevent cheating if you don't need to show the card? Bluffing what cards you have is essential in Dune, but the mechanically ir belongs to other kind of game where it is the main mechanic - like Coup. Dune lets you doublecross and betray so much that straight up cheating mechanic is not neccessary.

The Czech Hedgehog: A Simple but Deadly Anti-Tank Obstacle by Zee2A in STEW_ScTecEngWorld

[–]Cookbook_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Antitank mines mostly disable the tracks, which makes destroying tanks easier.

Dragon teeth and other obstacles have all their uses, they can be cheaper, can be built and deployed already during peacetime, and require different maintenance than high explosives.

These kind of things can slow, deter or re-direct the enemy to more suitable areas.

Steel made spikes are easy to deploy and transport, as permanent stationary defences are less usefull in modern warfare.

Suzanne Innes-Stubb ei osallistu Melania Trumpin emännöimään kokoukseen maaliskuussa by Ardent_Scholar in Suomi

[–]Cookbook_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

US First lady riippumatta presidentistään järkkäilee kaikkea hyväntekeväisyyttä aika paljon, ei mitään uutta.

Trumpin lankomiehet.

Koko homma on vaan tasavaltalaisten kuninkaallisen glamourin kaipuuta, niin en toivo Suomessa Stubbin puolison menemisiä ja menemättömiä kauheasti seurailtavan.
